I was blasting this on the airplane the other day and I forgot how damn funky this song is! It truly sounds like a Sign O the Times (Shockadelica era) track.

It's not underappreciated at all, most Prince fans love/like the track.

Every bloody day now brings a new thread with someone saying a much appreciated song is underrated. Is it suddenly cool to use that word? What am i missing here?

It might have something to do with the song being originally offered to his fans as a "fuck you" gesture.

When I first heard this song I was blown away and then I noticed how long it was and I was worn out by the last note ... LoL

No its an ok song and it is appreciated just fine. To me it is way overrated and no where in the "Shocadelica" league

The vocals are a little grating, but it's quite funky regardless. I wasn't around for the drama, but I've read enuff back threads to know what went down. I'da been pissed too if I was a fan. But it's almost WHY u love this dude. He DOES NOT CARE. The arrogance is so sexy, yet a total turn off at the same time. How does he do that?

I think he was aiming the song at Prince Fans Unite and the whole YT copyright infringement thing. Guess he got ticked that some fans didn't get what he meant, though he probably wasn't initially clear on it (many were outraged when he ordered a homemade video of a baby singing to a Prince song to be deleted, or at least that's what we're led to believe). Well I think the arrogance of Prince is because while it seems kinda arrogant it was also infectious. I have to admit it cut a little long. "Ol' Skool Company" kinda tried to mimic "PFUnk" (or "F.U.N.K.").
