Lady Cab Driver vs D.M.S.R

I just pulled these to out and dusted them off. I was wondering which do you guy like better. It's a hard call for me, but I'd have to go with LCD

U might not like the taste, but I'm still going to stick your face in this Funk

Why is it always a contest? Especially with two songs from the same album. There is no "better" in this case. It's a flat out tie.

Just to answer the question

I love DMSR. I caught on to the fantasia with Lady Cab Driver, especially the ending guitar riffs, but DMSR was my pick from the start on 1999

Yes, at 19, I finally saw the Revolution, a legendary band. And I talked to Wendy!!! biggrin In addition to seeing Prince, I have now lived life. Thank you Purple People!!

DMSR. Lady Cab Driver has that great sideways funk, but it's not the party anthem that DMSR is.

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Two great songs.....

DMSR will still be bumpin' in the clubs when my kids' kids are club hoppin'.

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

"Lady Cab Driver." With so much robotic funk on 1999 it was great to hear some live drums and the guitar is very nice.

Concerning "Lady Cab Driver" the guitar riffs are definitely addictive towards the end. Just chokin' them strings!

It's real hard to choose between two fantastic songs from my fave era of the wee purple man but if it come to the crunch, I'd have to go for Lady Cab Driver. Everything gels so well with that song, the guitars, bass, keys...and it is just so damn funky!!!!

This is not even close. LCD is one of, if not THE, best Prince songs ever in my book. The lyrical content and emotions that he goes through in this song are epic. The music is classic Prince mpls groove that he's rarely recaptured since.

DMSR is a throwaway party track that diddnt even make it to the first CD pressing of 1999.

Do you people actually listen to these songs?

DMSR like Party Up is a party song

Lady Cab Driver is a peak into UPTOWN/EROTIC CITY
