Prince "Right the wrong" Whats the opinion of this song on the org? Any alternative versions LOL (I own boots from the "Chaos and disorder" era but don't remember any?)
I think its a fun song and it works well for me. I like the chorus, aswell as his funky guitar breakdown. Anyone know the sample at the end of the track?

CRAP
The only songs that I still dig from C&D are Dinner with Delores, The Same December and Had U...

He should have given it to the Indian woman and let her bury it with her grandpa. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

More people seem to hate it than like it here.
I'm in the 'like it' camp (although the horns grate on me a little).

Although it might not be anywhere near his best, it's definitely no everybody loves me! TRUE BLUE

Can't take any song seriously where he claims to know anything other than a pampered, snap my fingers and I get it, lifestyle...all thisvtalk of slavery, no freedom, being discriminated against, theft etc is horseshit in his world. Add to that a fake accent ...and you get the picture.

For me, the Chaos And Disorder album goes along at a nice clip until this one comes on. "I'M SIX FEET IN THE GRAVE!!! I'M SIX FEET IN THE GRAVE"..the song was already kinda corny and then all that caterwauling brings it to a whole 'nother level of noxious dog fart..
That said, I'd take this song as well as nearly anything else he's put out there, over that terrible rapper in "I Rock Therefore I Am". Never thought the words "Show me your titties" would induce dry heaving. "Because when you say annihilation my friends, you've said all there is to say" - Henry Rollins

You didn't see that coming? As soon as I heard the line "like an embryo babe...." and the crunching sound of barrel scraping with "more than I love my hair...yeah yeah yeah" I thought to myself "were in for one extra special bumpy wagon ride here"....culminating in the horse farting in my face with Had U [Edited 8/19/10 7:05am]

Right on, man. Wherever that guy is today, I hope his boss makes him stay late tonight and clean the grease traps.

The fact that despite these lyrics, although I think the hair-line (haha) is actually funny, I Like It There remains so good, must mean it's one of his best songs ever.
And Had U is great too baby!
And oh yeah, and I love Right The Wrong, it rocks. It's more enjoyable than anything in the last 10 years. Now that's a wrong that should be righted! Stop the Prince Apologists ™

I like the sound of "Right the Wrong" and the lyrics of "Right the Wrong." By using a tale about a 17-year old locked up for "Stealing" ice cream, especially if the listener supposes that kid is black, Prince is painting the notion that all imporversihed people must unite if the plan to control their destiny, and he is drawing a combination between Africaness and Indianess. The song is an excellent idea and well executed.

But equally ridiculous if he claims to have any notion of that lifestyle...the guys been cocooned in wealth, tailored clothes, women, cars and yes men since the late 70's...the worlds moved on but he wouldn't know it

I agree with what you're saying but like a lot of his songs, he's just telling stories and like someone else said taking the piss with a fake accent.
The Chaos & Disorder album gets slated but there's still a few good songs on it and I loved the 95ish era sound of this along with Come, Gold, Exodus. C&D is obviously the weakest and lyrically (yes, the 'show me your titties' line) leaves a lot to be desired.
