MPLS Battle of the bands show.

List of potential bands to compete:

Prince and his current band
Wendy and Lisa
Sheila E
George Clinton
The Time
Jesse johnson
andre cymone ?
F deluxe
Chaka ?
Dr. Mambo's combo
Mint Condition
mazarati
brown mark
Sheena Easton
bria valente (ok...only kidding)
alexander o'neal ?
madhouse
jill jones ?

I'm sure there's more/others... I have ? next to some cause I don't know enough about them..perhaps they wouldn't be candidates.

All the bands perform against each other and America (no judges) votes on who gets to stay. Perhaps...Ms. Carmen Electra or Mayte could be the host.

The producers of the show can pair them up as they see fit, the competition will ensue in regular reality TV fashion. Whether its 3 competing against each other each week or 4 or what have you. It eventually gets down to a semi finals and then the finals where they compete for the crown. No real prize other than bragging rights, and of course all that air time they got.

This concept could of course continue for the next season but just change the scene...instead of MPLS Battle it could be 80's hair band battle with Poison, Motley crew, ratt, cinderella, warrant...I'm sure there's more than enough for a competition.

there's all kinds of genres and era's that could be covered under the battle of the bands concept reality show.
I'm surprised it's not been done yet.

I think it would be cool for the opening season to be the MPLS battle, kinda setting the precedent as only they could afterall Purple Rain and subsequently GB were kinda based on this battle of the bands concept.

I think a more practical and lucrative idea would be to have like a packaged cd collection set.

Like something you would get from Time Life.

Something like 15 cds, a booklet and a poster in a box set.

Spanning the bands and artists of the Minneapolis sound.

All the best most unique and remembered songs, featuring all the artists you listed.
