Prince's fake songwriting credits for others....gifts?

I'm not talking about the psudeunyms like Alexander Nevermind. I'm talking about songs where he gave flase songwriting credits to members of the Time, Vanity/Apollonia 6, The Family, Sheila E. and possibly others.

When I heard about this practice, I was really surprised. I figured it was possible that the girls in Vanity/Apollonia 6 wrote the lyrics to those tracks. but even that would be surprising. It's possible that the Prince of the 80s was a bit hearted herby and said he didn't the credit OR the money for these. Is it possible that these flase credits only appear that way but are ACTUALLY registered to Prince in offical records (kind of like his often hidden writing credit for Stevie Nicks' "Stand Back"). Sorry if this has been asked beffore (I might have asked and gotten the answer).

The Prince of yesteryear seems to have been a very generous person. He could have taken credit for all that he produced for others but yet allowed them to have the credit that made it seem like they did a lot more than they actually did. But as far as I know each song is copywritten in the Library of Congress with the original credits, mostly Prince.

Where could one find that information out....do I have to make a trip to DC or do they have an accessible website. This really fascinates me, especially when I saw he did it on The Family's album, which I finally bought.

Well, he just oughta be nice with handing out credits. Considering how much he's taken from others and not given them proper credit!!

He will go to the grave, obviously, with saying that he wrote Do Me Baby. And there are plenty more examples of this, but we needn't go into all of that, do we?

Oh Princey. Shame on you. I was just listening to this earlier this evening. How disappointing. Who said this? How do we know for sure?
