This is an example of the kind of Prince dementia I hate. Prince music makes crazy people crazier.

You close your eyes
All well an' good
I'll kick you ass
Like I said that I would

You tell them stories they'd rather believe
Use and confuse them
They're numb and naïve

The truth is the truth hurts
Don't you agree?

It's harder to live
With the truth about you
Than to live with
The lies about me

Nobody owes you
Not one goddamn thing
You know where to put your
'Just shut up and sing'

The album has a decent concept and I love it as a whole. I really think it's a great album if you listen to all of it at once. However, it doesn't really have any flat-out stand-out tracks. I think it's full of great tracks, but they wouldn't mean a lot without each other. I still really dig it and listen to it very often.

Isn't this so like Prince...and especially on the org! I've gotten so edu-ma-cated in the love/hate dichotomy of Prince's fans since I joined the org. He really has a talent for splitting people down the middle... I'm still bemused by this... Haven't seen it too much... Just adds to the interest! lol

Well, Prince's music does seem to make people overreact, in one direction or another. Something I fear you've fallen victim to yourself with that post.

Which surprises me - you're an intelligent chap, so I hardly need to tell you that people have different tastes.

So how does somebody liking 20Ten (albeit a bit enthusiastically) qualify as Prince dementia?

Being convinced that he's speaking directly to you in his songs, or convincing yourself that he will one day be your true love - now that's Prince dementia.

Being enthusiastic about an album that you like seems... well, perfectly normal.

Because it makes no sense. It is a 3 sentence, technically English declaration that people are insufficient if they don't like the record. And then it has endless icons peppering it. Icons which seem to have little to nothing to do with the original sentiment. That is Prince dementia. It makes people forget their heads.

Well I guess I just read it as a case of over-enthusiasm. It's presumptuous, and over-emoticoned to buggery, but doesn't seem to me to qualify as Prince dementia - certainly not in the realms of dementia we all regularly encounter around here. Although, it could be a mild case. The emoticon usage is certainly indicative that deep breaths and counting to 10 before posting should be prescribed.
