You are speaking my mind. As a kid, I never cared for ballads. I liked funky stuff, something I could dance to. When I heard "Do Me, Baby" and "International Lover", I totally changed my school of thought on that.

I happen to love his ballads and I love his rock songs as well...love anything with the killer guitar work..

My favorite style of his is funk-infused rock, ala "Bob George", the 1999 album, the Controversy album, etc.

Got to be his ballads!!! Love, love, love them!! "Somewhere Here On Earth," "Adore," "The Beautiful Ones," "Do Me Baby," "Scandalous," and "The One" among others are some of my favorite Prince songs of all times!! He just makes me feel so ALIVE and LOVED and SEXY!! But I also love his funky stuff, anything that makes me dance. His rock songs are pretty good too, but probably my least favorite, although there are some that I really love!
