I hate to tell the biz, so let me put it this way....

This song almost created a baby. The lyrics, the beat, the deliverly.....whoo! It is an amazing, passionate song that will always have a place on my computer and ipod!

March 1989! and JIR, the last cut on side 1 was the whispery mysterious conerstone

of the whole collection. I can remember playing a cassette copy of that already cruddy

quality record for people in my car and having them totally in to how damn good the song was.

This is one of those songs that highlights his capacity as a writer to me. Great storytelling!

I luvz me some Joy In Repetition. There's a bootleg version with no bar sounds at the beginning like you hear on Grafitti Bridge version and it opens on just the drums--powerfully haunting sound. Then the dissonant synth line comes in further defining the brooding atmosphere of the song. Otherwise it's the same song but that small 10-15 second difference in how the song opens really makes a difference in setting the tone.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the Live version. I cant stand how much I love it! I hate it cause I love it. Two EPIC guitar solos in the span of what? 10 minutes? Just put me in a box right now cause I've died and gone to heaven.

Yep, bootlegs used to be COOL! The records... I also remember listening to my freshly obtained record of Charade right at the end of 1988 on a cold winter day and then switching the record to 45 rpm after hearing his message on All My Dreams. "Play my record double speed, feel the climax fit for a king"

This song is HOT!!

The live version is even hotter. I love it!
