Now, Jehovah Witnesses don't believe in paying bills???
Are you a complete and utter moron???
Read my other post on it, not ignorance, truth. Money is 'given' to the church for redemption. Read yours and THEIR Bible once awhile and maybe you'll be more enlightened too.
I can't think of a single religion whose adherents don't give money. Hell, even my Buddhist friends give money to their "church." (Yes, I know Buddhists don't have churches. That's why I put it in quotes.)
This does not prevent them from their bills. [Edited 8/5/10 13:08pm] We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves. |

Perhaps.....but does that (supposed) "public perception" really matter? I can think of many musicians, actors and so on who have had far more notorious reputations and their careers weren't harmed at all!
I really don't think that a musician not paying his bills on time is going to get anyone (except the most luddite of people) ruffled!
Not paying your bills is the worst thing any businessman can do.
The second worst thing is when you don't pay your bills and it's made public;however, you have a valid reason for disputing it but you don't tell your side of the story (or even that you HAVE a side of the story).
When the day comes that Prince can no longer get paid up front, he may find out what this kind of reputation will cost him.
Put to you this way: Would you do business/extend credit to someone that has a reputation for not paying his bills, or if he does pay them, it's only way after they're due and/or you had to threaten/take legal action?
I bet you wouldn't.
Well dang-it that just about leaves me and other poor people stuck in this economy out it the cold and not belonging to your world as you see it. Forget that there are varies numbers of circumstances that may leave any one of us in that position. |

Partly, yes! And, in fact, Prince doesn't even say "No comment", he says NOTHING at all!!
And, despite what Genesia has said, I think in most cases that IS the right thing to do (although, she was referring to saying "no comment", which Prince doesn't do). Its why a lot of celebrities don't say anything when a story comes out, particularly if its negative, because saying ANYTHING can be used against you, even if its a flat denial. If you don't deny or admit to anything, then people can only speculate. And, let's face it, the media is rarely interested in the truth, they just want a story. Prince knows this - and has handled the media far better than most of his contemporaries.
That works for claims that are obviously ridiculous (like someone alleging you've had a pair of ribs removed). But in cases where is room for doubt (not in your favor), you better address it.
At this point, there've been enough instances where Prince has lost lawsuits, had liens placed on his property, or settled with people to whom he's owed money that it looks like he's in the wrong. That is never a good thing.
...Or the contraversy it's self. Who is to say that this attorney is trying to capitalize on the fact that Prince has acquired this type of rep? There comes a point where your rep becomes your weakness and you get taken advantage of. |

Ummm, from one married man to another, maybe you'd better define "a year's worth" before you buy that ticket.
She could be married too, in which case she might just be talking about one. Or even a half of one.
Never forget this ancient Chinese proverb:
While standing at the altar, waiting for the bride, the best man noticed the groom had the biggest smile on his face he'd ever seen. So the best man whispered, "Why the big grin?" The groom whispered back, "I snuck in to see my future bride a hour ago, and she gave me the greatest blowjob in history! And now I'm about to be married to her for the rest of my life!"
At the same time, the bride was smiling, too. Her maid of honor asked about the smile, and the bride said, "My future husband snuck in an hour ago. I blew him, and that was the LAST blowjob I'm ever gonna give!"
I think this involved Confuscius but I'm not 100% sure on that.

HA, good example of how religions/cult corrupt their own principles for their own personal gain. Listen, i'm pretty far on the opposite spectrum of religion (been there, done that) so my opinion is definitely a lot more judgmental when it comes to religions and in this case, cults. But I will tell you there are churches out there that are greedy, i've seen it in my lifetime. I'm not saying ALL churches are greedy, but there are definitely some that are. When you can't pay your bills because a church wants you to give it to God, that's a problem. The failure to see past your actions to your own detriment is why I abhor religions and cults that do this.
Now, could I be wrong about this, sure. But for a man who has made billions of dollars off his music and still continues to make that much off royalties....i find it very hard...more like impossible to believe that he can't pay a guy $50,000. So unless he's addicted to Heroin or high priced Hookers, I can't see any other expense that will drain that much money out of you. Oh, lest i forget the other times he hasn't paid his bills. Prince is in dire straits, he's going down a dark path. I may not like the dude for screwing his fans royally, but I don't want to see him dig himself into a deep hole he can't get out of. Oh come on. This is true of everything outside tax. Churches be it Anglican, Catholic, Seven Day Adventist etc need money to survive. Post 16th Century when the reformation stoped taxation going to a central point (i.e. The Vatican-and I've been brought up in a strict Catholic background, so I'm not saying that from an anti Papist stance), all faiths need financing. Dispute the faith not how money is collected. JHW's are not a cult, that is cruel. I do not agree with their beliefs but hey ho-we could almost take this argument towards Prince. To be on a website like this is almost religious and I know that if I could get my cash back on what I've spent on Prince since 1984- well I could probably afford to make myself look like I did in 1984!!! |

Loving it! Guess Prince got his internet connection cut and as he no long like the internet has banned anyone from doing online banking on his behalf lol. Theres gotta be a scripture some place that says you gotta pay your bills!
The scripture says this (and these R the wordz of Jesus): "Render onto Caesar what is Caesar's. Render onto GOD what is GOD's". This was Jesus' response after people questioned Him about paying taxes. I also take that as Jesus telling us 2 tithe and also pay our debts (taxes, bills, etc.) |
