What Prince album do you like more?

3121 for sure, though I do enjoy Lotusflower.

Well I would definitely have to go with LotusFlow3r. While I dig tracks like Black Sweat and Lolita, Lotusfow3r just has too much organic rock and jazz. First off, in my opinion there isn't anything on 3121 that comes close to the caliber of Colonized Mind and Dreamer, and from the Lotus and back to the Lotus are jazz fusion goodness.

Colonized Mind is a SUPERB song! One of favs on LotusFlow3r!

While 3121 displays a more varied and eclectic sound, it ultimately suffers a bit too much for it (though Black Sweat is a modern classic), most notably when it sways into more contemporary sounds; it just sounds boring. LotusFlow3r is ultimately more consistent and satisfying, as well as organic. One of his best albums, nevermind this decade.

3121 by a mile. 3121 was Prince growing as both a musician and showing that he still had the chops to make an album that could appeal to the public at large and not just his hardcore fan base.

LotusFlower I feel is a step backwards in Prince's musical progression. It sounds way more like NEWS than anything else he's done. The closest thing to elevator music he's ever produced.

Definately LotusFlower/ MPLS.

I enjoy almost every track except Chocolate Box.

3121, I only like Black Sweat and a few others, the title track is poor, but great when played live.

Without a doubt Lotusflow3r...

... much better production, much better flow, better songs (Boom, Colonized Mind, $, Dreamer, ...). It is a better version of TRC, which I loved also.

While at first I thought 3121 was a very good record, a leap forward compared to Musicology, it has aged badly. Now, I even prefer Musicology. 3121 just has too much of an r 'n b flavour to me... Incense and Candles, Beautiful, Loved and Blessed, Satisfied; yuk!

The Word and Fury, and to a lesser extent Black Sweat and Love are classics to my ears though...

BTW, I'm also a BIG fan of MPLSound and 20TEN.

3121 is still growing on me. Lotusflow3r.

3121. The running order for LF still bugs me.

I do like "3121," a little more.

There's not much I like about the entire Lotusflower project.

I prefer the LF. 3121 has too many flawed songs on it for me. Don't get me wrong I love 3121, but some songs just don't hit me like the ones on LF.

3121 is always in my top 3 releases and Lotusflow3r is on the bottom with New Power Soul, I think that's it's name - I haven't played it in so long I don't even know! Lotusflow3r feels negative to me. It leaves me feeling like I have just soaked in somebody elses negativity. On the other hand 3121 makes me sashay through my day.

If I must give an anwser though, I dislike LotusFlow3r more.

both are excellent - his finest albums this decade - but I'd go with Lotusflow3r by a hair over 3121.
