I find that the way Prince bounces his perspective to us with stunning lyrics and funky tunes, provokes hope & inspiration

I like him because he's eccentric, flamboyant and incredibly talented. Not to mention the string of genius albums. Sort of the same reason I love Bowie.

Reason #1 - I heard he painted his garage with a magenta hue once in the fall of 1994.

Because he's part of my childhood. And recently, I've been drawn back into the Prince vortex once again, thanks to a certain friend of mine.

I do like his music. I like his style. His looks don't hurt either...

So if it means anything at all...

#1.: He represents all that's cool about rock-and-roll -- from Buddy Holly and Little Richard to New Wave.

#2.: He's WEIRD! Like me... like life! Warner Brothers took a big chance with Purple Rain. In fact, I heard they were going to scrap it in the middle of its production until someone sold them the idea that Prince represents a certain weirdness that resonates with a lot of people. Hell, I bought it!

I have grown up listening to Prince, I fell for the guy back in the early eighties, just before Purple Rain came out. I can go back in time as to where I was and what I was doing, just by listening to his music.

He's a good songwriter.

I can relate a lot of his music to my own personal experiences, that's what keeps my interest peaked. I always look forward to the next evolution or change in his musical (or lyrical) style.

From his music to his personality. He's fun, he does what he wants. He's very sweet yet so mysterious. His eyes tells a story but you just want to know more about him. In my eyes he's the most respected musician out there.

I like P because hes rude. a real fuck you attitude. Despite his message of love..hes a real punk.

I like Prince because he loves sex. And through some of his most sexual songs he's able to be funky, turn you on, and give you something think about all at the same time.

I rarely get tired of Prince's dirty talk because he's usually saying something through it, and if not he backs it up with some kick-ass, funky, rock in the background.

He's funny too.

His lyrics are worth listening to. He can pack so much narrative and emotion into a few lines of lyrics. It's amazing. His lyrics are also a peek into the sense of humor that's hiding out under the private, mysterious persona.

I don't know. I'm just a sucker for good lyrics, I guess. It also doesn't hurt that he is an incredibly attractive guy (at all stages of his career)
