Seriously! It's been 22 days and y'all are crying about being bored. Then you need to move on to someone who can keep your attention for more than the time it took you to download the music.

On a side note - Sometimes on here I truly wonder if the bulk of posters are really serious about what they post or if they're just on some "too cool for school" ego trip. Either way it makes me really sad to read a lot of your disregard for artists work(and not just Prince). The internet may not be over but according to some of you music had it's last breath somewhere in the mid 90's.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Comments like this are so left-field and bizarre to me.

Why on earth would Prince -ever- release "20TEN" with a remastered "Sign O The Times"??? That doesn't even make one lick of sense. It doesn't matter if you said it first cuz it's a mouthful of random crap.

He already gave it away overseas so it doesnt make sense to sell it in the USA as WB or any other record company would not profit and neither would P. However if he releases a remastered version of arguably one of his best albums WB would be behind that and P could give 20Ten to the buyer as a freebie. So you buy the remastered work of one of his all time classics and get 20ten 'free'. WB wins and P gets his new music distributed too.

This has been mentioned a few times in different threads, another idea was to give the cd away as part of a dvd release. I would not hold your breath for any remasters any time soon, though i acknowledge that i could be wrong.

Also, about it not making sense to sell 20TEN in the USA? When Planet Earth was given away with UK newspapers it was followed by a US release, was it not?

Key sentence here. nod

He was able to find U.S. distribution for this. It was released like a few weeks after the UK newspaper release.

For me it's very hard to get bored because there's so much past Prince music, there's always something that I haven't listened to in a while that will sound fresh.

Don't misunderstand me, and think I'm not appreciating the "20Ten" album, it's great about 7 /10 imo... the album is OK, could be better, could be worse....

AND now we're waiting all again, another year maybe.

Hmmmmmmm it tends to be very boring being a Prince fan - all this waiting for the *next* funk experience.

What do you think, what should we do and discuss in the meantime, untill another Prince CD is released again...

Aren't you bored... like me.... question

tumbleweed

no no no! Not bored, other nouns but not that one lol

Prince has already given us more than tens of thousands of pieces of Art. The mysteries in his music have longevity so be grateful for all of the treasures that Prince has given us. Only the unknown future remains.

This is the oversaturation that Warner Bros. warned him about. People are now easily bored with his music. It is not necessarily that he releases sub-par music, some of it is quite good, we are just bored. A new collection is met with us saying " Oh another musical fart from our genius. Let me bury it in my closet before it stinks up the whole house."

He should have listened to the professionals and concentrated on the music.

So true. It's like if the man himself isn't gonna get excited about shit he created, why should we? Maybe it's our personal look at it. Some folks may be OK with it but it seems as if he's passing it over as leftovers before he can think of another plan for his next album.

- Yes, I agree.

hey my friend, nice to see you posting, i don't read your posts here very often anymore.hug

Right On SuprMan! I never get bored with Prince. I became a fan when I was in first grade and Batdance came out. Never have had a dull year with him. Thats why I follow his career 21 years later. Anyway 2010 just has been out a month. We get sometimes 2 or 3 disc of music a year from Prince. Most artist take 2 to 3 years for one disc. I'm good for now. I still bump MPLS Sound, Lotus Flower, and 2010. I cant get enough of Dance 4 Me, 4Ever, Dreamer, Sticky Like Glue, Compassion, Lay Down. Not to mention I need to hear the track musicology on a regular basis. Oh yea and I recently fell in love with Somewhere Here On Earth from Planet Earth. The music just goes on and on. As I said I am never bored with him. His weakest music outshines most artist best songs. Hell even Be My Mirror is better than most overproduced crap on the radio.

Haven't read all the replies, not sure if this has been said, but...

...Prince doesn't help matters when he says of his new release (paraphrasing here), "I'm three albums past this music. This music is old." If you're three albums past it, release them! That what the whole 'slave' thing was about, wasn't it? That's why Prince made such a deal over Emancipation. "Free Music", you used to proclaim... well, free it! Stop arsing about with crappy websites and put the music out there... OR, pay each of your releases some respect, promote them properly, put some singles and B-sides out and then tour with them. Otherwise, all we'll do is "get bored" and continue to moan until we are up to date the most recent of Princely recordings.
