i know that you could say this about a lot of his unreleased stuff but i was just wondering why he didnt release this ?....it is one of my favourite tracks from the early years...better than most of the stuff on his second album ...........just love that groove he has on it.....

reasons why it probably wasnt released

1. might have been in the vault

2.Warners bros just hated it

3.didnt feel like it was the right time to be released

Taja Sevelle's version is cute though. I think it would have fit on SOTT actually. But as far as the time period, he could have put it on Prince or Dirty Mind. I also think Jill could have sang it in Purple Rain. It would have been an early version where Prince was in a 3-way triangle with Appolonia and Jill (where she was set to sing "Wednesday").

I've often wondered the same thing. I love this song!
