1) I've bought genuine copies of the Batman LP, and the Partyman CD maxi single, so all the material they make profit from I already legally own. The video is merely a promo tool for the sale, so if I wish to own an Mpeg download of the video which is not for sale and was originally recorded of TV (which U could watch for free at the time) I reckon I’m well within my right.

It's not "petty" it's called "covering our ass". I'm not qualified to say who owns the copyright for the video, but I'm damn well sure you don't have the legal right to distribute it free of charge on the net. There have been plenty of other Prince fansites taken down for that very reason.

Our site rules are VERY clear - there is even a mention of the "where can i get..." issue at the very top of the page in the Prince Music and More forum. You don't like it, find somewhere else to post.

Anything that has the potential to cause legal problems for Prince.org will get removed, end of story. That's why those rules exist (we were requested to implement them by Paisley Park).
