Wow, those look great. But do they sound great? What are the specs?
Were the Cloud and the Habibi/Symbol model made by (ex?)-orger Leo the luthier? Where did you get the Hohner? I just love the Hohner, and yours looks VERY much like the one that Prince plays. The newer models look to shiny and bright, plus the tortoise shell on the newer ones looks kinda brownish instead of black. I´m not a guitarist but I guess if I were, I´d also prefer a telecaster or something similar.
Too bad that Prince rarely plays his trademark guitars these days and even poses with Strats in magazines instead of using his Cloud, Hohner or Symbol one. The Strats may sound good but I think Prince is one of those guitarists who are known for using trademark guitars....Strats look flat out boring on such an eccentric man.
Nice guitars! " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

noooooooooooooo,Prince sounds amazing on Strat. It's his best sounding guitar along with Hohner. these other trademark guitars have bad sintetic sound

But I never doubted the Strat´s awesome sound in my post, did I ? I said it SOUNDS great, but looks bland compared to his trademark guitars. Besides, being a Prince fan since the summer of 1984, I never had a problem with the sound of his Cloud,Hohner, Symbol or Model C. They all sound great, too, IMO. Strats sound great but they are too plain looking. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

For the purple one what kind of guitar case is used for it? I always wondered about that. "The first time I saw the cover of Dirty Mind in the early 80s I thought, 'Is this some drag queen ripping on Freddie Prinze?'" - Some guy on The Gear Page

The Hohner is a H.S. Anderson "MADCAT" TELECASTER.
The Habibi case is a special designed for it.
The Cloud is a Schecter NPG.

I never get why guitars don't look massive on him...the hohner is normal telecaster size and, wgn I had my Tele, it looked massive and im 5ft 11. The strat looks large on him but nothing else

the symbol guitar is missing the gold symbols on the 5th, 7th, 9th,etc frets.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
There are no gold symbols on the original habibi as you can see in the presentation of the guitar in Guitar Player. Fake ones have those symbols.

Nice collection but I couldnt imagine ever pulling out the Habibi with a straight face. The design is just too absurd.
THe Cloud and Honer look great.

yeah, I feel the same about the cloud. It's cool but I could never play it except as a joke.Even the Hohner, with the leopard print is too Prince for me to actually use onstage.
But if I had the money I might get one all the same. Buying guitars is a sickness, and too many is never enough! My Legacy

Cloud is nice, but doesn't it feel unbalanced?

Right ON!!! | |

How many of you all with these guitars actually play and Funk It Up???
Because I know some you all must play!

yeah, Strats are just so common (I have one, and sometimes feel like "just another wannabe with a strat" ) The Tele is pretty common, too, but it's part of Prince mythology at this point (and his best sounding guitar tone, IMO)
But I have always thought it made sense that Prince would have custom built instruments. I certainly would if I could afford it! My Legacy

how do the funky shapes affect the sound of the guitar...
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
probably not as much as the scale length, wood, finish, and pickups (and effects & amp, of course) My Legacy

if that's the case, I wonder why more guitar companies don't do more creative designs...

Mine is my avatar, been a guitarist 25+ years, but I can't afford a Prince guitar, although I would love one. Mine is a blonde squier tele, with a tortoiseshell scratchplate and my own decal on headstock. Lucky guys owning those great looking guitars.
