Technically that was a monokini as he wasn't wearing the bra bit (or if he was then you'll need to provide photographic evidence, or failing that a picture of him wearing something red)

I always loved this look on him. It was so normal that it was outrageous to me when I first saw it...but I also just like the look.

How do you figure? The two looks are nothing alike.
Prince's jacket is double-breasted, Bowie's is single-breasted. Prince's lapels are peaked, Bowie's are straight. Prince is wearing a white shirt/white straight tie, Bowie has on a white shirt/printed (or patterned) bow tie. Prince's pants legs are pegged, Bowie's are straight.
And the two suits aren't even remotely the same yellow.
