Cause and Effect on early 20Ten configuration?

Not sure if this has been pointed out or discussed before...So I was listening 2 "Cause and Effect" earlier, and I never noticed (probably cuz I never listened more than twice) that starting at the 3:13 mark he mentions the titles "Beginning Endlessly" "Compassion" and "Future Soul Song". Maybe it was on an early configuration of 20Ten or maybe just his way of hinting of an upcoming album by putting in the song titles. Anyone else notice this?

Yeah, it's been mentioned a few times. The phrase "lay down" is in there also.

Is that a backwards message at 3.29? Has anyone reversed this?

I added Hot Summer and Cause and Effect to the end of my 20ten CD.

Me too. C&E actually sounds marginally better when placed along side the rest of the album.

I also added those tracks but slightly differently.

I have Laydown at the beginning, with C&E at the end. I've replaced Sea Of Everything with Hot Summer and done an edit so that it merges nicely with the end of Walk In The Sand.

I love the album like this, C&E is a great closer for me.

I think Cause and Affect is definitely worthy of being included and it seems like it was meant to be. But it sounds more like Lotusflow3r than 20ten. I still can't really get down on Hot Summer, but maybe it would be easier to listen to if it was part of the flow of a full album.

I don't think of Hot Summer as a part of the album as much as a teaser for it and for the European festival tour. (I think the Peach & Black folks made this point, come to think of it.) Although I think it was cool for Prince to give us these tracks as a little something to get folks amped up, I think the album works better without them. But to each his or her own...

I added Hot Summer to my version but not Cause and Effect cause the sound quality of the recording is not good enough. I don't know if there is a better version circulating - if so I'd probably add it.

Hmmm my cause & effect is much better than my Hot Summer. Guess I'll have to seek out a better Hot Summer.
