yeah he definitely did a full version on the hit & run tour, though the audience sang the infamous second line of the song, not him.

Prince performed a few lines from Darling Nikki on the Planet Earth tour in 2007,

as part of the "samples medley",

as you may know: Prince played a sample from an instrumental studio version of those songs on his keyboard while he was singing live.

It worked very well seeing this live - however on the boots it sounds weird imo.

thedance is right. Prince had looped samples of his songs in a keyboard, and did a medley of different songs like "When Doves Cry", "DMSR", "Erotic City", and "Darling Nikki" tucked in there.

During year 2000 Prince performed full lyrics version of the song

and he even fucked the stage,but during year 2001 that .... Larry Graham probbobly harresed Prince so he was starting darling nikki intro and after saying:

4 letters word wont be heard tonite he segued into Joy in Repetition

Pretty sure I saw him play part of it on the Musicology tour during the acoustic guitar set. Aaaaalmost positive. He stopped and threw in a scolding "oooooo" when the audience sang masturbating. Could have been a different tour, though.

The song is not really that dirty by Prince standards. It's just that we associate it with the scene in Purple Rain where he's humping the stage and being an ass to Apps.

yeah on the hit & run tour he explained in the same concert why he would not be singing any four letter words

It just goes to show, I don't believe his attitude has changed, just the very superficial change of not cussing onstage

I swear I saw it in 2004. I have a setlist or recording of all the shows I attended. So if I get motivated enough I'll try to find the exact date. It wasn't the entire song, but he did play it.... I think.
