I think people barely recognize that some of Prince's upbeat songs had a similar approach to the Motown sound especially considering songs that sounded like this. He could put this in the act if he was doing "Delirious". | |

I don't know if it fits the "classic" Motown sound, but Marvin Gaye - I Want You. I'd love to hear him and the ONA band stretch out that intro and jam on it.
Oh, wow. This is one of my favorite Jackson 5 songs, yet I had never heard her original version. Nice!
I have a boot called Funk Brisbane Funk, from the 2003-10-27 soundcheck in Brisbane, where Prince performed this. It was a more traditional arrangement, though. He performed it a couple of other times, too, around that time.
That would be a great choice, too.
