This from systemrecords website:
Details: New Prince Documentary at Budget Price The maverick, miniature musical genius that is Prince was at his height when the rest of the music world was mired in conformity, and his work from that time continues to astonish and amaze in equal measure. His 1980s masterpieces include 1999, Purple Rain and Sign o the Times, a trio of albums featuring incredible sustained inventiveness and quality, out of a total of nine superb records released in this decade, during a torrent of productivity. Prince has of course continued to make remarkable albums and his sold-out shows at Londons O2 Arena in 2008 illustrate his continued relevance. But the albums he made and the shows he played in the 1980s remain and likely will always remain - the highest watermark of his career. Prince In The 1980s explores and reviews Princes work throughout the decade that launched him
Featuring contributions and analysis from friends, colleagues, fellow musicians and other notable figures Includes archive interviews with the man himself, rare and classic performances, liberal film footage and a host of other features This programme is the premier overview and celebration of the music and influence of the man who has been known by a number of different monikers, but whom the world at large knows and loves as Prince.
So what it basically means is it will be shit.

Of this nature yes, the words friends, colleagues and notable figures is enough to make me run a mile in the opposite direction from this dvd.
The interviews and rare and classic performances will, i'm guessing be cobbled together from other sources.
However, i could be totally wrong.........but i will not be buying it.

Really ?
Rave Un2 the Year 2000 is bad - very crappy.
but the rest from PR to UTCM, SOTT and The Hits I really like those......
Graffiti Bridge is crappy too, but I still like the music performances a lot... Prince 4Ever. |

OK I wans't really referring to the films.
SOTT is an amazing show but the dvd could have been so much better. |

It's just a reissue of The Glory Years which has been available for a couple of years already:

It's an unofficial documentary. Features interviews with Dez Dickerson, David Z, and a few other former employees and critics. It's not too bad given it's cheap production values, but nothing special. |
