Prince on Jay-Z's final CD, "The Black Album"

Jay-Z plans to retire after his next album. "The Black Album" (which features a colaboration with Prince).

"I have nothing left to achieve in hip-hop" Jay said.

Taken from channel 4 teletext.

I'm thinking Prince isn't involved and the album name just caused confusion but that's what it says.

Jay sees the album as a prequel to his debut LP (Reasonable Doubt), completes full circle of his career to the end. His personal wealth is estimated in excess of $300m.

It's from UK teletext so no. Details of Jay-Z talking about his final CD "The Black Album" should be all over the internet though.

Like I say I doubt there's any more of a link to Prince than the album's title.

i guess...

u know that is just a phat ass lie, just like when Master P said he was gonna retire with his lyin ass. I wish he'd stay gone.

Anyway, I hope they do something 2gether, although Prince and an out-there artist, is weird i think.

Why do rappers keep saying that they're gonna retire, when they never really do? Remember in the mid-90s when Too Short announced his "retirement"? It lasted about 3 years.Ja Rule says that his current CD will be his last, but just watch...he will be back in a year or so.

And remember in 1997 when Puff Daddy said that his 'No Way Out' CD would be his ONLY album?

Right, NME interview was the source. Got to have Prince on "The Black Album" I guess. Maybe it's linked with P allowing permission to use "If I was Your Girlfriend" on Jay's duet with Beyonce.

JAY Z ARTICLE: When asked whether he had any special guests lined up for 'The Black Album', Jay-Z revealed: "I was trying to work with Prince on the last album, but I had to close it. But he let me use the sample in '03 Bonnie And Clyde' [from Prince's 'If I Was Your Girlfriend'] when Beyoncé sings the bridge. So we'll probably do a song. But probably the last album will be 90 per cent me."

First of all,I have NO interest in jay-z,so who cares if he retires or not!
Second,Prince's music is FAR superior to what these thugs do,so why in God's name would he waste his time with the likes of jay-z?

I'M NOT A HUGE FAN OF JAY Z'S BUT I HAVE TO GIVE HIM CREDIT.

HE MAKES BANGING TUNES AND HE ALSO SEEMS LIKE HE HAS A BRAIN COMPARED TO THE OTHER TRAILER TRASH HIP ARTISTS OUT THERE WHO CAN BARELY PUT TWO WORDS TOGETHER IN A CONVERSATION..

I WISH JAY Z ALL THE BEST AND AS LONG AS THE STUFF HE DOES IS WORTH LISTENING TO THEN I WILL BUY IT...INCLUDING ANY COLLBORATIONS WITH PRINCE

THE BLUEPRINT MAY NOT BE THE HARDEST HIP HOP ALBUM OUT THERE BUT ITS GOOD TO LISTEN TO..

AND JAY Z HAS MORE TALENT THAN POOF DADDY... JA RULE IS A DISGRACE AND NAS HAS A CHIP ON HIS SHOULDER..

JAY Z IS THE ONLY INTELLIGENT RAPPERS OUT THERE SO RESPECT TO HIM

PS, CHECK OUT THE BLUEPRINT 1 AND REASONABLE DOUBT..

In short featuring on Jay-Z's alleged retirement album would put Prince in millions of homes. Probably the best selling album he'd ever of colaborated on.

It's so funny though, how people bite the language, the style, the clothes, and everything, and still put it down, talk about contradiction...
