Everybody Wants What They Don't Got I like this cool little ditty, and wish that more than the first part of it could be heard. I found somewhere on the net that these are the rest of the lyrics:
Ooh, I really like what my neighbor's driving [Edited 7/27/10 14:03pm] "Get up off that grey line"

Great song from the snippet I've heard.

Sounds absolutely wonderful and inspired from the snippet. Joyous and simulteniously bittersweet.

I've worn out those samples. That one, Cosmic Day, Big House and Adonis & Bathsheba are in desperate need to be released in full condition.
Esp Adonis & Bathsheba.

Esp Adonis & Bathsheba. Maybe it's just the unreleased hissy vibe of it, but I agree it sounds fantastic. Such an unusual lilting melody and stunning vocal performance. Man, fuck Susan Rogers. This song needs more harp!

I keep hearing Susan's reference to this song in org discussion but I don't know what exactly she said. Care to share?
And I def agree, I assume that he shelved it because somehow it sounded repetitive to him, comparing to some of the stuff he released? I don't know, I could only speculate his reasons. Listening to the small sample, I'd say his reasons are not good enough at all

Listening to the small sample, I'd say his reasons are not good enough at all According to her, she told him the song was not up there with his best work and was so cheesy sounding it made her laugh - which pissed off Prince. Not quite the reaction he was looking for, I'm guessing. Susan also added that she was thinking sarcastically 'all this silly, overblown nonsense needs is a harp' and as if picking her up psychically, he suggested adding a harp - but seriously. She said he song was quickly shelved and never spoken of again. [Edited 7/27/10 13:46pm]

Wow
I usually admire Susan's view on his music(released or otherwise) at least from what I gathered from her interview in the DMSR. Obviously she went out to lunch on this judgement BIG TIME.
I'm sorry he took her input to heart, this doesn't belong in a dusty vault at all.

mm great lyrics and very true. people always looking for the next thing to attain, instead of appreciating what they already have, like money, for example. this too shall pass

I really love this song...it grabbed me the first time I heard the snippet and I've worn it out since then. Really hoping he releases this one someday (or at least that the rest of it leaks).
