I think it's his best cd since Rave Unto. Without a doubt. Retro or not, it's a fun POP album. And as one who doesn't care for r&b, but yes does like Prince, it's good to hear the pop side again.

I've been alternating 20Ten & The Arch-Android by Janelle Monae for the past week. Both are incredible CDs and great music for the summertime.

I've only listened to it once. It's not my thing. I may try playing it again to try to give it another chance.

"You need to lay it down..And, let me show you how...Here come the Purple Yoda"

This is the funkiest track on the whole album. The rest of it seems like he went into the vault, and recut some of his older stuff. Falls in the vein of the Controversy era.

I give it 6 1/2 out of 10;-)

I wanted to wait for an official US release, to get the whole store bought experience I enjoyed so much as a youngster, but I finally gave in last night and downloaded it.

After two listens, all I can say is WOW.

I havent felt this way about a new Prince album since SOTT, and I was 13 when that dropped. 2010 had me actually giggling and clapping on my first listen. Way to go, Wonderboy!!!

I'll have to see if this wears off, but I am quite sure this will be in heavy rotation for a loooong time!

This sounds like a bad demo of songs that could'nt make it on 1999

I can understand people not liking the album but when they compare it to stuff like 1999 it makes no sense.

You can listen to actual 1999 outtakes and these dont compare.

You're so glam, every time I see you I wanna slam!

I listened to the album once. It didn't make me feel anything, the songs are weak and sound dated. I thought it was uninspiring and lacklustre. The song Compassion with its smacking ass beat sounded like a rejected song from the 1999 album. I am old skool and prefer Prince's music from the 1980's and early 1990's. I am glad I didn't pay for 20Ten because it would have been a waste of money. This may sound harsh but I chucked it in the bin.

You know I felt the same way at first, like did I just step into a time warp back to 1982?!? BUT the more I listen, the more i see how brilliant the record is. Who knows why Prince made this kind of record, the analog sound and all. Maybe this was his musically sarcastic answer to all those who want him to make music like he used to. I do know that compared right next to his older stuff the growth and talent is apparent!

Everyday...and some songs more than 3 - 5 times a day. He still gives me chills on his slow jams and still can't keep still on the funk jams. I hope that never changes.

It's best funk is dispayed by wearing headphones... still listening, still great music.

What is funny is how "fans" liken certain songs from 20Ten to extremely great albums from the past, then say he doesn't sound the same, then say he needs to go back to his old sound..... what? LOL
