Wow! Great playing and a great guitar. I got a cloud in black and I´m very happy with it. See the man with the blue guitar, maybe one day he`ll be a star...

I have a white cloud that turned of white years ago - and I dont like that! It is still a great conversation piece though - people come into my palacial pad (Paisley Park East) and they are always attracted to it.

How odd...this post inspired me to look at the Net to see what guitars you could buy. What I did find was that there seem to be one he'll of a lot of official/genuine clue guitars of Princes on display around the world....could have sworn there were only 3 real clouds made and they were repainted over the years. Saw a curious picture of Red Cloud backstage at the Superbowl...I thought he'd ditched it entirely by then

Great playing and great looking cloud! did you say you bought it or made it? The head seems to be about right, a lot of replicas have a head that is a bit too stubby.

There were/are several Cloud guitars made for Prince over the years. The original was made at Knut Koupee in Uptown and several others were made by Schecter. Prince's Schecters have a different headstock than the ones mere mortals could purchase via NPGMC. His were also of course made with better hardware and materials. Some Clouds were repainted (I think the Peach Cloud was previously a White Cloud), while others were painted by Schecter at their custom shop and stayed that color.
There was a Black Cloud with a rosewood fingerboard prior to the Batman Black Cloud which had Bat inlays on the painted fretboard. Then there were Yellow Clouds and the Blue Angel, which was a lighter blue than the later, darker Rave metallic Blue Cloud guitars. The Cloud at the Super Bowl was actually orange and matched his outfit. Obviously Prince decided to use the Strat that night, probably because it had a tremolo bar. More recently, Prince posted a couple pix of a metallic Yellow Cloud as a tease on the 3121 website. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I've seen some schecter cloud guitars that looked really dorky with wider rosewood bolt-on knecks and nt really the proper shape. Are you saying that Schecter made nice clooud guitars for Prince himself?

Yeah, Schecter made Prince's stage model Clouds. Those really ugly Clouds are made by ESP in Japan. Weird headstocks, different pickup configurations and Floyd Rose tremolos make those ESPs a totally different animal compared to what Prince used.

wow, what a nice comment from you. However super!
hello purple minded people, I get many questions about the setup I play. I have this recorded with a line 6 xt pro http://line6.com/podxtpro/ (sim.amp) I have condemned a red MXR compressor with a lot of sustain delay, chorus, and a Soldano amp used. Also received many questions about the cloud guitar, this is a Dutch luthier build with the right hardware emg pu (81 & sa) and Schaller hardware. it was built in '95. I have bought it through a site like ebay nerderlandse, I hope I've helped you a bit. if you have any other questions I'll try to answer them later greet @ward
