The All New 52 Album Prince Project!

If you intended to listen to a different Prince album every week for a year you might come up with a list such as this.

NB: I've included The Black Album and The Undertaker in the order in which they were first intended to be released.

Should the 2 Madhouse Albums be included or are they to be considered a seperate protegee entry?

If we take these 2 out we could include Hits 1 and Hits 2 as they were released separately from The Hits / The B-sides.

I wouldn't include Times Squared cos thats tagged as an Eric Leeds Album.

The 3 NPG albums should be included as he peformed in the videos as Tora Tora etc.

The List

For You (1978)

Prince (1979)

Dirty Mind (1980)

Madhouse were not a protege.

Prince composed/performed as much if not more on these albums than the NPG albums.

if you're going to include the Madhouse albums, you might as well include Times Squared. there really isn't much difference.

i'd probably lose 1-800-NEW-FUNK though.

While I would love to do that, there are a few albums I am missing, but am hunting down nonetheless.

I don't think I could listen to some of these over the course of a whole week. Your thread has got me wanting to go from A-Z though. I'm gonna load everything into iTunes and go from 1978 to 2010 and let it all wash over me. smile

Im taking on a similar task but left out the instrumental albums since bore me and placed The B-Sides as bonuses to their respective albums as well as extra tracks pulled from The Work volumes (My Purple Rain has more bonuses than album tracks now lol)

Cool idea. Personally, I would remove 1-800-new-funk and one man jam...maybe a couple of others, in favor of unreleased albums, like Dream Factory, Crystal Ball, Camille, even Roadhouse Garden if you have enough of the outtakes.

If it breaks when it bends, you better not put it in.

I was about to ask the same question. If it is 94 East material, shouldn't it be first on the list?

I was actually thinking about putting it first since I have the Black Album in when it should've been released.

I only first heard the 94 East material when the One Man Jam double album came out in 2002 though most of it had been released around '86 I think as Minni Genious.
