Hadn't it of been in Grafitti Bridge..

Wouldn't you think Still Would Stand All Time would have gotten the recognition as one of P's best piano soul ballads it deserved? It did save that album from being entirely awful..

Take away all the other songs featuring other people (The Time, Staples, blah blah) and Graffiti Bridge is not all that bad.

Then listen to those same songs in their original or alternate form, reinstate The Grand Progression and you have a very good album indeed.

And as for Still Would Stand All Time, i like it, always have, whether other people do or not means nothing.

Possibly, its a Prince classic.

I also wish tick tick bang was a bigger hit.

I like 20TEN - but Graffiti Bridge is better:

The Question Of U,

Joy In Repetition,

Thieves In The Temple,

Elephants & Flowers,

New Power Generation,

I love those......

those songs are classic Prince..... love2

Still Would Stand sounds very bad on the album, I don't like the synth rhythms (whatever it is), this song is much better live on the Small Club live recording.

imo. GB is a 8/10.

20TEN 7 or 8 /10.

Seriously? I thought the construction & buildup of the version he played on the album was endearing, unique, and creative. Small Club didn't have half the amount of thought and emotion as the album's vocals AND instrumentals.. nor bluesly vocal riffage.

To me Still Would Stand all Time is up there with Purple Rain. If only it featured that guitar solo P did at Small Club- it would have made a difference.

Had it of been on a more successful album or of gotten promo- more people would have gotten the chance to of heard it. Had i not of seen Graffitti recently I would have never heard it..

I agree, Graffiti is a better album then 20ten.

I agree.

If 'Still Would Stand All Time' had been on another album it would've fit in better.

But it is an awesome song.

Indeed. Some of my favourite Prince tracks ever are from this album: Elephants and Flowers, The Question Of U, We Can Funk, Joy In Repetition and Still Would Stand All Time are all classics.

I don't really understand a lot of the hatred levelled at Graffiti Bridge...admittedly, it has dated 90s overproduction, but the songs themselves are incredible! I agree absolutely that Sill Would Stand all Time is a classic, and I'm even gonna put it out there that the GB version of Tick Tick Bang is way better than the original demo version. How he squeezed all that harmony and excitement over that bare-bones framework, I'll never know!

Take it - like Clarence said:

all different U know."
