Are Purple Reign tribute band any good?

I'll be in Vegas on Friday night and see they are playing at Hooters. Sounds like a brilliant night to me. biggrin

I saw them at what used 2 be the Boardwalk right on the Strip back in 2005. They did a free show (just a 2 drink minimum) and I was really impressed. The guy who did Prince had the moves down almost perfectly and the band sounded great. They've become quite a spectacle over the past several years, even playing on Letterman. Needless 2 say, their shows aren't free anymore. biggrin

Not seen these guys, but on the whole, i find tribute bands wildly embarrassing.

I saw them in Vegas a couple of years ago at The House Of Blues. Thought they were pretty good but didn't like The Time segment. I wanted all Prince!

Purple Rain in the UK are better in my opinion. Their show rocks.

legna

unless the set-list changed, you will get to hear mostly 80's and early 90's songs

"prince" will also be about 6 feet tall

i've seen them twice and enjoyed it

"hooters" is similar to the boardwalk in "ambience"...you've been warned

Do they play newer stuff than Prince (ironicly) or do they cover only an era?

It was mostly 80s and 90s when I saw them. Their setlist may have changed since then....?

They were amazing and I would go again and again and again if I get the chance. Highly reccomended.
