Deleting Larry Graham?

Just currious, is it just me that deletes all Larry Grahm songs from live recordings?

I can not listen to "Everyday People" or "Thank u Forlettin Me Be Mice Elf" , and "I Want to take you Higher". He has been playing those same songs over and over and over again for the last 10 years!

Larry is very talented and I am not taking that away from him. It's like the family member that shows up at parties that everyone is embarrassed by but won't acknowledge.

Again I am not complaing or saying Larry is not talented it's I just can't listen to these songs anymore.

Even before Larry came around, he was doing these songs. I'm tired of them. I could barely stand them from their original artists, much less from Prince.

Larry Graham has been playing those songs evidently since before you were born cuz you seem not to know he was the bass player for Sly and the Family Stone that wrote them. Hes one of Prince's icons.Thats who your icon was studying when he grew up. Prince has been yelling "do yall know who that is?!!!" for better than 10 years cuz so many people have no clue who he showcases.

Um I know who Larry is I was at Woodstock....so please don't assume. Just because Prince "showcases" him does not make his songs any better after hearing them over and over and over.

Do you think that most people who go see Prince have never seen him before?

As much as Prince clearly loves Larry's music, I don't enjoy any of the Sly material as part of a Prince show. I never thought of just deleting it.

I sure do wish someone would or could delete Larry and Co.

As for my playlist, it is definitely "larry-free", thankfully.

the man is a true living legend and had a major impact on EVERYTHING that is funky. the only person above him is james. how can anybody have a problem with him or his music??? he invented slap bass. the music you people here supposedly like wouldnt exist in the same way if not for him. i guess i could understand someone not liking larry graham, but i cant comprehend how you could like prince but not larry graham.

You say over and over like repitition is the issue and Prince been playing the same stuff for 20 some odd years. You were at Woodstock? How many black people were there?

I reckon that this criteria also applies to the Prince songs and leaves you with very empty concert folders? lol

Most of the times I skip those songs.

I think Larry is brilliant, both with Sly and the Family Stone and as a solo artist. I also think it's great to see Prince obviously having a great time playing with him.

but at the end of the day you end of listing Prince songs you wish he had played instead. It's not like Prince is lacking in material and has to do covers.

but sure this has been the case for years....
