Experiences of meeting Prince.

Have you met the purple genius? What was it like? Or would you die to meet him?

Yes, I've met him. He had a very powerful aura and gave me the famous "Christopher Tracy" smile when I said thanks for the show. He was very humble and chill.

Yes.

There's no one I'd die to meet.

My short meeting with Prince:

after the aftershow at Vega Copenhagen 2002.... (yes I was there and it was excellent..!),

Me and some friends went outside a few minutes after the show ended (maybe half an hour?). We turned around a corner and a big white limousine was just passing us,

I have never seen such a big car like that in Denmark, it was huuuge.

and, in it was Prince himself in the backseat: he made the limo stop and rolled down the window, then he looked at us, and asked in his deep voice:

"Was it too loud"??

We were all amazed, and stumbled (is that the right word?).. anyway we mumbled or shouted back something like: "No No No... it was great".

Prince must have been satisfied with the answer, cuz he rolled up his window and the limo droved away out into the night of Copenhagen. He was gone...

It all happened really quickly, I guess it all took about 10, maybe 20 seconds,

a really nice experience, we laughed and had a great time, talking about this little "happening".. sorry for my bad english.... wink

ps. I have told this little story a few times already on housequake.com - and here on the Org already, too. Memories....

kind of...

I've told this story b4

it was the first celly. I was sitting on the stairs in the smaller room (not the sound stage room) the sound board area was right behind me.

I could tell by the stares of people that he was back there.

so I turned around, looked right at him, stuck my hand out (palm up) and he looked at me with a funny look kindof if to say "whaddya want me to do with that?" I said nothing, he slapped me 5 turned his hand around and I slapped him 5. I then turned back around with out word. biggrin

I was also in one of those 3 plus hour rainbow children discussions with him and larry but I again said nothing. I've stood next to him and been in his close proximity a few other times during celebrations.

"not a fan" falloff yeah...ok

I met him at a gas station and I've gone to church with him because of his invitation. We talked about how there weren't many female musicians and I said that I played sax and he said that if I was any good, he would hire me.

That's amazing! I would freak right out if Prince showed up in his limo. Literally freak out, hahaha.

He was actually in the back seat of Larry and tinas suv and my mom had known them because they always went to her work for natural health products and they introduced us to him..it was right after church so they were probably just getting a snack or gas..why else do you go to gas stations??

It was in st louis park..across from where I was living at the time..I was 12 when I met him..I thought I was 13 but Larry mentioned a few weeks ago how I was just 12 when they met me..Larry introduced me to some people as the musician..it made me feel really special that a rock and roll hall of famer was calling me the musician.

I bet it feels good biggrin So, you still have contact with Larry if you talked to him a few weeks ago. You know there is no much difference between 12 and half and 13 years old biggrin

they were going to come see me play with my pep band in a parade last weekend but they didn't show up..it was sad. I'm thinking that they are still in Europe traveling with prince because they haven't even called. sad they are family friends.

Well not me but my brother met him in 2009.

He got to meet and hang out with him at his LA home after a Stevie Wonder concert. It wasn't a big party just like 20 people.

My brother was looking at Prince's bass' and Prince came over to him and handed him one(a purple one) to hear him play. There was backing music from a DJ and Sheila E on drums.

Later they watched one of Prince's London shows in his theater.

Met him several times, often actually, in my dreams, one of the latest dream: in february

Prince and I: We were together, somewhere, suddenly I asked whether I could hug you, you said "of course" then I hugged you very tight, then U were bit amazed but u smiled..
I told U that I liked your hair that way..it was light brown and very short
After that we went in an aircraft and I wanted to sit next to U, no seat available, so I just tried to sit behind you, a woman was sitting there feeding a "baby"..
But as a truly real experience, it was last May, last year 2009, the 22nd precisely at the airport, I said "hello" to him in an aircraft, he looked at me and turned his face, soooooooooooooooooooo colddly, never I occured such a cold wind...
I'd rather dream of him, much more poetic and warm, since another try...smile
"never meant to cause U any sorrow.."
