Seriously... we need to get this jam on Michael Baisden, Steve Harvey, Tom Joyner... it is a 'grown and sexy' HIT, if it gets a chance. The folks who don't feel the 'coffee' (yes, there is black music) side of Prince's styles may not get it, but many will. If 'Call My Name' could get recognition, this one should be a no-brainer.

This is definitely one of my favorite moments on this album. It mixes his classic MPLS sound with a fresh, grown and sexy vibe that I don't think we've heard in a song by P in a long time. The keyboard riffs and guitar licks are definitely infectious and give me a sense of Stevie and some 1980's funk...just incredible. Shelby and Prince definitely work great together and I love their delivery on this cut. Nothing groundbreaking, but very wonderful. [Edited 7/22/10 22:38pm] Check me out and add me on:

I absolutely cannot get enough of this song. Tracks 3 to 8 are 20Ten for me. I listen to these straight through then start over on them again. I love the way they flow together. Sticky Like Glue and Act of God are just bonafide jams. I cannot get enough of either of them. Sticky is the sexy side and Act is the funky, gospel-tinged/Staple Singers-inspired political side. Love them both! perfection is a fallacy of the imagination... | |

I definitely agree with you! Tracks 3 to 8 (with Laydown included) is just what makes 20TEN worthwhile to me. Beginning Endlessly, Compassion and Everybody Loves Me does nothing for me, but everything else that are between these weak links are great. Overall, this is definitely a groovy and listenable album...Act of God is too funky! I just love how this album is layered too. Check me out and add me on:
