about Prince and his references, i agree with what's been said, mostly obtuse references but when i first The Word and Love and Last December, i was like DAG! this is straight up scripture WITHOUT a "book, chapter, verse" reference. the essence of those songs is so biblically on point, i played the for some Christian friends who still have P on some butt out jeans ish.

too many personal favorite verses to list but Romans 8:28, Ephesians 4:29-30, Romans 12:1-2, Romans 1:16-32, Proverbs 27:2, 17, 20, I Corinthians 13:4-8, Acts 4:12

..you gotta have some sort of compass for life lesson, morality, etc. the bible is the most comprehensive self-help book i ever read!

Are you trying to be funny? You know that the "Golden Rule" IS Matthew 7:12, don't you?

"Whatever you want men to do to you do also unto them." That is part of Jesus sermon on the mount. Also part of this sermon, Jesus telling his disciples that we should feel blessed (happy) when Christians are persecuted "for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

In all seriousness, I think if you were to read Matthew chapters 5, 6 & 7, Jesus is talking about peace, love (how He loves us and how we should show love to each other), why He was even here on Earth to begin with, how HE wants to be honored-chpt. 6, (which is really very simple compared to much of the pomp and cirmcumstance associated with most organized religion) . Unfortunatley, man, in general, has so bastardized the true Word of God that most people think that much of the politics and corruption of religion is something that the Bible supports and condones....it does not. (Matthew 7:15) Maybe instead of operating on a second hand account or a preconcieved notion of what and who Jesus is you might just skim through Matthew and let Him tell you for Himself who He is and what he wants...which is not a lot considering He died so you can live.

This one is stretching it by far but what it lead me to was very interesting....Listening to the song "7" I was linking some background numbers being said...a part in the song u heqar the numbers said 1,2,3,4 and thena quick 1,2 and short pause with 3,4 added on...so I took this to mean 12:3-4..since the song has to do with Revelation..I picked that book to look this verse in.........This is what is found there..........."AND A GREAT SIGN WAS SEEN IN HEAVEN,AND,LOOK!
