The packaging was nice, but the only version of that song I like is "Beautiful Girl" from the Get Wild single.

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I like it, cool remixes and lush artwork. Not something i listen to these days though.

There are copies of this (in varying condition) every time i log into ebay, and most copies are nice and cheap, so you should be able to pick this up with no problems.

Or, you could try http://www.madhousemusic.co.uk/main.htm and they will ship to anywhere in the world if you ask then nicely.

Just one more thing, if you are going to buy this, try and make sure it has the fold-out cardboard flyer included, it is in the shape of a butterfly, and includes a dictionary definition of "Beautiful," with some nifty artwork. It came with the usual booklet.

Good luck.

I love the whole thing. I love the butterfly jacket, the other artwork and pictures. I love all the remixes. I think he should have added another mix or two, like the one w/ Eric or Brian playing their flute/horn (respectively). It was also a great opportunity to mix a duet and put it on there, too. But all that aside, I love the EP. Definitely worth finding and owning. There are a few singles from TBE as well. There's a Mustang Mix single, plus the regular single w/ all the girls faces on the cover (has the album, and "Beautiful" mixes on it), plus another single somewhere I think. Even on "The Holy River" 2-Disk maxi single, the Mustang Mix shows up again.

Sucks that it was just remixes. IIRC, it was meant to be an EP of individual songs, various stuff from the Come/TGE era... help me out here guys, Interactive, yadda, yadda, yadda.... what else?

I guess Warners wouldn't let Prince release more than one song as part of this deal, so he did the remixes. New World was to be part of the single originally until the WB poo-poo.

I loved this when it came out, and still like it. I felt that it worked as a complete suite and could be listened to from start to finish (least like the original...

I remember this as an interesting experiment and also for the fact that it re-broke TMBGITW back into the UK top 40 via this 'EP'. I seem to remember Prince also did something like that with the Thunder picture disk, too... back in the day when Prince sold enough to get into the charts... oooooh, bitch!

I've never heard that before. New World? barf

I remember some dodgy staged interview thing with Mayte & the NPG where they talked about rehearsing new instruments samples for a world tour that would take place after The Most Beautiful Girl In the World was released in about 18 configurations. What the fuck was that all about?! lol

blah blah blah

Yes, it's true that "The Beautiful Experience" was originally intended to be a 7 track EP/Mini-album

of different songs, rather than 7 remixes/alternate versions of the same song. Unfortunately, it's

not known what the tracklisting would have been.

It's also true that the original b-side to "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World" was going to be

and early version of "New World", which was actually titled "Love 4 One Another" at that time.

As well as the idea of releasing these tracks as one big triple album called "The Dawn", there was

also an idea being bandied around at the time that he would release this material over a series

of 7 track "Experience" EPs/Mini-albums instead.

Of course neither idea actually happened in the end as Prince was still tied to his WB contract.

This was also the reason why he had to use remixes of The Most Beautiful Girl In The World

for the b-side of the single and to make up The Beautiful Experience EP.

^ As usual, great info Boris. I didn't know or forgot about the "Experience" EPs. That would have been a cool idea. Now Billy Corgan is doing something similar with the Smashing Pumpkins releases.
