Per Nilsen Day on PRINCE.ORG?

Just by accident skatin thru the org..and I came across posts by Per Nilsen, the author of past books and articles about Prince. THANK YOU PER. I cannot tell you the huge smile on my face when the lastest UPTOWN magazine or a book you authored on Prince would come out at a local TOWER RECORDS and gettin my hands on it. Before the internet was alive and well (no pun intended) Per kept me as a PRINCE fammie up to date with past, present, and future happinings.. Because of this I am here proclaiming PER NILSEN day on the ORG. today!!! Spread the word and share your thoughts for this fellow ORG'r whom is a part of the PRINCE.ORG family!!biggrin

I was luck enough to buy a copy of "The Vault" book from Per himself not that long ago. Before that i collected the Uptown magazines. I like his style, both books and magazines are very factual and interesting.

I have learned a lot about Prince and the people around him through Per Nilsen's writing.

It would be fantastic if he decided to write a follow up to The Vault one day.

We can only hope.

If willing permits. Wouldn't it be great to have PER on the Ernest show??

Just received an inspiration for a middle name for this fantastic author:

PER "Pen of the Times" Nilsen(yes)

That is sad, unfortunately prices for The Vault are through the roof. I see the occasional copy on ebay, and prices vary between £100-300 (UK).

There are abbreviated versions of The Vault however, which though seemingly just as rare as The Vault can still be found, and at much cheaper prices.

One of these is called Turn It Up 2.0, which is an updated version of the first Turn It Up book. The other book is called Days Of Wild (this book contained a cd-rom featuring 22 issues of Uptown magazine).

Both these books were then brought together and updated and published as The Vault, which is the book we know of now.

If this story is wrong in any way please correct me, but this is the story behind The Vault as i understand it.

Sounds pretty accurate as I recall what you mentioned in an advertisement within a few issues of UPTOWN magazine around that time period for the Vault..Turn It Up..cd-rom..

Since Prince is such a fan of Apple I Tunes.hehehehehhehe...maybe Per could get together with the peeps at Apple and work out Apple as part of a download on NEW Apple IPAD... I love it and he then could do a I-book tour at local Apple stores AROUND THE WORLD IN DAY!!
