Hit potential: what would be UR choice for a new Prince Single & Video ? though, I doubt MTV or VH1 would play this song in high rotation:
I would choose "Beginning Endlessly" from "20Ten" as the new Prince single / Video,
this song is infectious, with some hit potential.
What would be UR choice for a "20Ten" single/ video-release....

I'm listening to Beginning Endlessly right now and I agree with you that it should be a single. I'd also add Future Soul Song, Laydown, Sticky Like Glue and Lavaux. [Edited 7/13/10 9:22am] I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Act of God as the first single, Sticky Like Glue as a second single and then Lavaux for the knock out Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.

Unfortunately, your choice is what Prince would make for a single. He did the same bad choice with "The greatest romance..."
You can tell about Prince's Future , but his Past is utterly unpredictable

Nothing from 20Ten, that's for sure!

Sticky Like Glue or Future Soul Song.

Beginning Endlessly, Laydown, or Sticky Like Glue.
I'm leaning toward Sticky Like Glue. I Stefani Germanotta.

I LOVE Everybody Loves Me and Act of God, but the radio surely won't play Act of God because the radio stations and record companies aren't going to make the banks angry. They won't play Everybody Loves Me because the "young people" these days won't "get" the sound of it. I Stefani Germanotta.

Seeing as he can't be arsed with extended versions or proper B-sides, i can't be arsed with his single releases either.
My answer is why bother?.

oh. And i've not seen a new Prince video on TV in years.
I saw a clip of 'Guitar' on TV once, an advert for the Daily Mail giveaway. 30seconds long.
That was it. | |

Sticky Like Glue would be a fantastic 1st single and video. It's catchy, funky with a slight flavor of pop and has great lyrics to sing along to. I vision the video to be colorful like Raspberry Beret and fun & sexy.
Act of God and Lavaux would also be superb follow ups as well as Future Soul Song and maybe even Compassion.
I am also still in love with Hot Summer and would have liked to have that included on the 20TEN album. It would make a killer pop single!

Prince already made his money
He wont bother to release a single because he has no album on the shelves.

The ones most likely to be hit singles are either not on the album or not my favorite songs. Oddly, I like the ones on this album that I know would not be good singles.
If he had included Hot Summer, no matter how derivative it is, with enough promotion and a great video, it could have been a hit.
From the album, I'd say probably Sticky Like Glue, which is not one of my favorites. Lavuax would be a hit depending on how the American/European audience feels at this time (I honestly don't know as I haven't been paying attention to the charts).

No doubt, Lavaux and Future Soul Song. "Paisley Park is in your Heart"

Depend on the market. On Urban Black Radio it must be Future Soul Song. It would be number really fast on the urban charts. So It all depends on the market he will be shooting for.
