I guess "Let's Go Crazy" has turned into some pseudo gospel/blues affair all of a sudden. lol

Nice to see Sheila in the beginning of the video. smile

From what I could see from it, it wasn't the laziest entrance. And the performance was nice overall. It's just interesting how these songs bring out what was probably not noticeable initially about "Let's Go Crazy" and "Delirious": the gospel backbeat.

Not surprised LGC started off with a gospel-like hymn.

I thought it was beautful I love venus de milo, and there is nothing lazy about doing a classic song diffrently. Lazy is doing it the same way as always. I would say that was one of the most intresting version of the song I have seen live.

..but yes, it was a bit lazy. Lazy, but cool and relaxed. It was a nice change to how he usually comes on stage. It was an apt way on that hot summer´s day. Perfect way to start that show. You just had to be there to dig it.

It was a GREAT concert, seriously. The media are still raving about it.

nothing lazy about it. In fact several of the shows I saw he just kind of strolls on stange.

Hell for the PR and prince shows he used an elevator! now that is lazy! lol

for lovesexy he 'drove' a car to the stage! (I know it was on tracks.) (oh was that the same T-bird that he crashed?)

not that i support constant complaint, but maybe Prince takes it personally and doesn't see it for what it really is.

this too shall pass

if he was selling albums well he would get his advances. Several of his last albums he failed to cover his advances and cost of promotions.

What happened? Did Prince come out on stage in a wheelchair, or did Chick carry him on stage?

Like what albums? Musicology, which sold over a million and millions more where given away at concerts? Or the #1 album (in the USA) 3121? The #3 album Planet Earth? The #2 album Lotusflow3r? I'd love to have those kinds of failures in life.

The Band play a little bit of Venus de Milo, then P just walked in jamming a little but before he started the lyrics, he went to the Keyboards and played with his Right hand while playing Guitar with his Left Hand!!!!!! headbang guitar

I know a lot of people have been hating on the harmonica player featured on Prince's recent live shiznit. I actually think the harmonica was a good edition, it brought a new texture to songs that Prince has been beating to death for the last 25 years. It's like the harmonica version of Eric Leeds (no, no...I won't go so far as to say that!).

I'd like to see Prince play with a bass clarinet or something, like Herbie Hancock during the Head Hunters days. I know he probably wouldn't do that, though, because he's a super star (Entertainment tonight/Access Hollywood party 3121 BULLSHIT!!!!)...And a musician 2nd. That's right. I said that. eek

The thing is, Luke is albums, he's been so used to hearing that his gigs are amazing that he appears to have got a bit complacent...gone are the things that made it a show, it's the same songs now, he doesn't even bother with trademark instruments (cloud, symbol guitar, piano) it Fender Strat and Keyboard on a stand all the way baby.

And those distributors are just lineing up to distribute another Prince record huh!! Come on man, EVERYONE know that each one of those distributors lost their ass on those releases. Prince made out good but he is not selling. He sells to his die hard fans and thats it. Its his own fault because he wont promote himself. If I had a label or publication I wouldnt sign a deal with him nowadays. He had to give away Musicology on his tour to make it SEEM like it was selling on the charts. 3121 had potential but lack of backing and flopped. Planet Earth was a flop right out of the gate due to giving it away overseas. Lotusflower is still on the new release rack at my target for 4.99 and they have 3 entire rows of it in the section. They cant give it away. That album had some decent material on it too. Its a shame. Prince just doesnt care anymore. Once he gets his money he has moved on. All of these albums TANKED the following week. One week debuting doesnt mean anything. You sell 200,000 you are in the top 5 now and thats not a lot of cds. I will admit around or close to 1 million Musicology cds were sold truthfully. He promoted that album and was successful. He can still do it he just chooses not too. He had to work his ass off though to sell that million> Everything about him since then has always been a gimmick. Its the only way he can get his music out there. He just needs to have a simple website and charge .99 per song or 10.00 per album download. NO cd release and just sell to his die hards. He would make the money he wants and do nothing for it. He would never have to tour or make a video again as long as he kept it current. Oh yeah i forgot reading a newspaper and buying shiny discs are whats hip now. Digital media and internet is dead. MY BAD!!

Did he ever bother to produce a tour book in support of the 20Ten Tour?

My guess is he didn't. BTW, those songs... "1999", "Kiss"? Please update that setlist with selections from the album. confused

Co-sign...an artist like Prince , who has his own trademark instruments, doesn´t really need a boring and average looking Strat, no matter how good its sound is. I understand that he initially bought it and played it because it reminded him of a Strat that Sonny used to play when they were teenagers but hey, he´s got like three or four new Strats now.

The only old guitar he´s been playing for the last few months is the good old Hohner, and of course the one off reappearance of the white Model C by Auerswald, given to him by Gloria von Thurn und Taxis in the late 80s.

I miss the Cloud guitars. The Strat looks way too ordinary for an exceptional artist like Prince.
