So I'm wondering how people can say that Prince's lyrics suck. Do any of you listen to modern day music? Let's have a comparison. Some hits from today compared to lyrics from Prince's latest album.

So tell me, do Prince's lyrics suck still, and why? What's wrong about them. Surely if they're bad you can tell us what's wrong with them

Prince's lyrics are the best in the world. I want to know whos saying his lyrics suck...

Prince is a great writer, sometimes Prince's lyrics are like poems, imo.....

Prince hasn't spent much time on lyrics for the last 20 years. If he has, it sure doesn't show. The lyrics for Lay It Down do seem well thought out and harken back to the days when he could have fun with the English language and poke a little fun at himself. It was refreshing to hear. The rest of 20TEN has some of his worst lyrics in years. Act Of God is just lyrically silly. Prince did social commentary on songs like Sexuality, Party Up and Annie Christian without fisting the point up one's rectum. I can overlook lazy writing if it's part of a good song, though. I'm a huge fan of Lenny Kravitz, but he writes rhymes like Dr. Seuss - that doesn't take anything away from some very enjoyable music.
