Woke up early this morning to get the new Prince album from my local supermarket. In the excitment I forgot to buy breakfast - pissed. Haha.

Anyways - I've been asked by a number of people on twitter (@PinBoardBlog) about the '20Ten' front/back/disc artwork - so, decided for those who aren't lucky enough to have a copy yet - to upload some sexy hi-res images.

Not sure if this is 'allowed' on Prince.org, I get confused with some of the rules, but hopefully you get to enjoy them.

Your link was very cool - the artwork is among the best of the last 10 years. I'm fond of 3121 & LF art, but PE and Musicology were not that good.

Bitch bitch bitch. Some folks will complain about anything. Like the OP and others: I think the artwork is quite nice. I like the nouveau look of it. It very much captures the mood of the album, which is ligther, fun, colorful, rich.

I like it..cant wait to get a booklet and ish when the real cd comes out..it will complete the experience..I was kind of upset how Planet Earth and Lotrus didnt have a booklet or lyrics.

The designer of the cover is Prince's long-time fashion collaborator. I'm going to guess Debbie McGuan did only the fashion pose, dribbles and maybe the font selection while Malzone did the rest which seem to be culled from unused Lotusflow3r images.

The art work is ok..I just dont like the fact that the picture of Prince doesnt even look like Prince..imo.

I haven't heard the album yet, but the artwork itself is very much Prince . . . a combination of ATWIAD and Lovesexy, with some GB thrown in.

I especially like the CD artwork - doves, mountains, a (holy?) river, people congregating in a park (Paisley?) - even a somewhat digital rainbow.

It's great that Prince finally gives hes designer thought many years some recognition.

I'm sure Debbie McGuan makes sketches like this for every outfit she's made for Prince.

Can you imagin how much work that is.

I'm a fashion designer myself, and I know how much work you put in2 "Getting others 2 understand the idea" B4 U even start the final product, wich is an even larger job.

I absolutely love the cover and disc art for this album. I don't know why, I just love it. I can't wait until I get it. I just preordered a copy from the German Amazon. It says it will be in the 20th or the 22nd (I think, I can't recall which one lol). Im VERY excited.

Bought 3 newspapers at the second petrolstation we checked...

Didn't really listen yet.

The 'person' drawn is anatomically not entirely correct?

yes ofcouse it does, the sketch is done by a fashion stylist.

Well, we did a review of record stores in Geneva and Vienna and none of the stores was carrying the 20Ten CD, as to be expected.

So many people are still waiting for the actual disc.

What will that mean for the project?

Its funny, I thought the back cover split the words "Ya" and then the last two letters "wh" for YAWH, meaning Yahweh, and then leaving the letters in the middle as somethign else to be deciphered. The it has to be only LAYDOWN . . thats what I get for looking to deep! : )
