LOVE IT!!!

Strongest opening in a long while for a prince album! first 5 tracks or so are bangin' and all between 8 to 9.

Second half of 20TEN shows too much filler for this album to be a classic, and the sesame-street tune is actually ridicilous...But alot of the album shows the confidence and energy of vintage prince.

Complex Song writing, total lack of fear, strong hooks, really great vocal arrangements and singing. it's all here.

I think production-wise, as usual when looking at his work from the last two decades, P could have benefited from a real good producer - not a young gun wonder-kid but a seasoned musician with a coherent vision. A real co-producer would have avoided the pitfalls in this album and also could bring prince to a more organic and sharp vision.

Also, bring back clare fischer.

WOW I'm absolutely blown away by 20ten.

Did not expected that it would be THAT good.

It makes me feel so happy that I'm on cloud nine, crazy I know.

Don't know how to describe it but this whole abum

sounds like a relief to me! Like Prince would be absolutely free...

All the rememberable melodies that stuck in your head after listening

and the ease of the songs is incredible. Love it!

I must admit, I am actually impressed with this CD. Easily his best work since 3121!

Good old fashion Prince, doing what he does best... can someone say 'chicken grease?'

I like the album alot ...save for the last two tracks..I was like ..looking at my ipod wondering how long till it was over...BUT I loved Compassion, Sticky Like Glue, Act Of God (I thought I would hate that one title alone), Lavux, Future Soul Song and Walk In Sand...I like the album alsot even if there is really no theme to it but the musical theme is definitley 80's with the "new Prince" involved and that's just fine.

We dont get artists that 'go back to their roots' alot in music. They either stay in the same lane or move on to something totally different by the time they get older. So I really appreciate Prince "going retro" to the sound he defined in the first place. Often imitated but never duplicated by many in the past 5 years...

Yea it's cool to see fairly well recieved reviews coming from the org. I can't remember the last time I've seen that for a full length album. And remember he's got 3 more albums ready to go. lol . Sounds like this is really good summer type album.

Now if and when the U.S. gets a proper release, will it be any different than the free euro version?

That's what I'm waiting to see. I'm guessing he'll wait until after these free giveaways before an announcement is made.

FINALY !

Looks like we got candy afterall cool cool

A great record that picks up when the sound was lost halfway during the nineties.

This will get a lot of playtime on my iPhone in the next couple of weeks and months.

Too bad it's just 10 songs.

I demand compensation for the last 15 yrs:-P

I was reading the org reviews by song when listening to the album, but damn, what a bunch of negativity! Anyway, on first listen i really like it. Sounds like Mpls, just much better produced.

I bet if some of these tracks came out in the 80's, people would love them

Thumbs down. A couple of 'good' tracks the rest is embarrassing and i cringed in places.

As a side note.. How many of these songs start with a straight kick drum or snare intro? I count 7. SEVEN!

Where is the creative openings? the leslie organ of lets go crazy, "dont worry, i wont hurt you", the swirling psychodelica of pop lifes intro... the fierce guitar opening of when doves cry?

this is not a yearning for yesteryear, just a call for a wonderfully gifted muscian to bukkake my eardrums with his musical jizz once more. Right now, its more scat.

Ive got nothing but love for the little man but this record isnt for me, Anything since 2004 may aswell have been the from same album.

Very pleasant listen from beginning to end.

Only 2 tracks I don't really care for and those are the last 2 (Everybody Loves Me and Laydown).

So far Sticky Like Glue is my favorite.

I have to wonder if some of these are dusted off tracks from the vault.

Nonetheless, pretty good set of tracks. Better than most of the stuff I've heard in a very long time.

LF doesn't sound like any other album he put out in this era. MPLSound & Controversy are the closest this album has to a sister.

I love the whole throwback feel to this album. this is what MPLSound should have been. 'Lavaux' is authentic Minneapolis sound, the keyboard licks take me back to his 'The Time' stuff. This album is insanely good. There's brillliance everywhere on it.

It's a stone cold classic in his discography.

9/10

I'm going with "I Love It!" because there's real emotion on this album lyrically and vocally. More than I've felt from Prince in quite a while. Most of the music is pretty simple, but that's not always a bad thing if it moves you. It lacks guitar solos, and I'll probably skip a few of the tracks in the future. But on the whole I'm actually pleasantly surprised. I dig it quite a bit.

Favorites so far in no particular order...

Beginning Endlessly - I really hope he works out a live version of this. It would kill with horns coming in at about the 3:00 minute mark matching the synth lines.

Future Soul Song - favorite Prince ballad in quite a while

Sticky Like Glue - even with the rap (which could easily be edited out *cough*)

Strangely, it's the three longest songs on the album that I'm feeling the most right now.

I Love 20Ten, about 8/10... heart

Only Walk In Sand is weak, Everybody Loves Me is totally weird.

The other 8 songs gets better with evey listening.

20Ten is a good album, good, but not classic.
