I like this one a lot more on repeat listens. I don't mind the Purple Yoda thing in relation to the "from the heart of Minnesota" line. It's like he's calling himself a funk Jedi, which actually makes me laugh. Also, I don't know who it relates to in Princeland, but I have to agree that the surgery in question is Lasik. Makes sense with the rest of the lyrics.

The music is bangin. Love it.

"Purple Yoda" line is cool as shit in a corny Prince kinda way. I can dig it.

But, the clumsy delivery of the rap detracts from the song. Prince seems to rush with a lot of his lyrics these days. He ends up trying to cram too many or too few words into a line. It really hurts his rap efforts, Laydown being no exception.

Great end song...wasn't too impressed with tracks 10 thru 76...I had to turn up the volume on all of them but gave up... but this one is pretty good. Only Prince can rhyme Yoda with Minnesota!...CLASSIC, this one I see blasting in the car....

overall a great---great cd...FINALLY!!!!....

Everybody Loves Me is so bad that it's absolutely hysterical. Act Of God might grow on me, but I doubt it. Walk In The Sand has a better chance of growing on me.

The rest are groovy. I'll just have to see if they bore me after a while like much of Prince's later catalog, but there's hope with this album for sure.

I don't know. You would think that Prince would know how much of a steaming pile Everybody Loves Me is, but I'm actually of the mind that he really thinks it's great and no one is around to tell him he's nuts.
