Good Enough...nice way to "close out" the album

Yes, I absolutely agree with this. I think people who dis it have issues themsleves with expressing emotion. Anything that's emotional makes them feel uncomfortable.
Shut up already, damn. | |

I will never like this song. And the amount of love I have for MOST of the rest of the album will NEVER blind me into thinking this song is good. It's not.

My first thought was dude you are not serious!!!? I started laughing and am still grinning whilst tapping my feet LOVE IT cos its fun & bouncey
*I may have been influenced by the fact that Prince taught the Arras crowd to chant this chorus lyrics Friday nite*
It's just a bit of fun people lighten up
One minute they want peace……
Then do everything to make it go away.

To each their own. But in my world it's just a bit of crap. Which will make it a perfect time to take a bathroom break if I ever see him play it live.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I'm listening to it now and damnit I like this silly song! It's fun and playful and yeah, it's funky. I'm bouncing at my desk listening to this feeling good and happy. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Upon first listen I was like WTF but after a couple of times I couldn't help but smile and sing along. He's got balls putting it on an album but has done similar before like Wedding Feast. It's very much Tongue in cheek like the rap in Sticky Like Glue, good to see him not taking himself serious sometimes

It doesn't really matter how goofy all the lyrics are, every song on here is musically addictive. This reminds me of the old days when I listened to every song on his albums over and over. We are all so full of here

I think it turns around and gets better once it hits the 1:30 mark

Change "Me" to "Cheese" and sing it really loud. Then tell me this is a good song.
Everybody loves CHEEEEEEEEESE

OH GOD ....JUGHEAD....RIGHT THE WRONG....LIFE O THE PARTY....ANOTHER CLASSIC FROM PRINCE......
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Nope. It's pretty silly. I'm not much into Prince's songs about himself being the best of the best all time...even that it's probably true that everybody loves him...

I can't get this damn song out of my head now
I think it wouldn't be sooo bad, if it didn't have the casio-keyboard processed voice on it. The other layered vocals would've been sufficient.
(Please let me state that this is my opinion and in no way is it an instruction to the rest of you to agree, so no persecution please ) We ain't from Hollywood, so you know it's all good

I love this song! it's very catchy, the piano bit sounds like something from a 1970s UK sitcom

anyone remembered the cd of children song mentioned in 1996??? if u cant tell me if Prince or Rosie did the opening scream for Gett Off, then u are not purple !!!

Uhm, let´s try it: All you need is cheese, all you need is cheese. All you need is cheese, cheese. Cheese is all you need. I just knew the Beatles were crap

What are you talking about? First of all, I didn't say PRINCE was crap. I just feel quite confidently that this is one of the worst songs he's ever officially released. Second, All You Need Is Love represents an entire era and a cultural movement. Do you really think Everybody Loves Me is going to do the same? Because from where I'm listening all it represents is narcacism, his usual odd sense of humor and lazy songwriting.
Everybody loves Wiiiiiiiiis! New Nintendo commercial.

I totally agree. I love this track. Reminds of something done around Dirty Mind or Controversy. I love how people say how weak the lyrics are then go and jam out to Gotta Stop Messin About or Horny Toad Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.

Some. Some people. Because I don't jam Gotta Stop Messin About or Horny Toad. So at least I'm consistent. In fact, I rarely listen to most of Dirty Mind and Controversy. Only the few tracks that I really like ever get listened to, and those not very often. A lot of the oldest Prince albums (pre-1999) sound outdated (to me) and have really weak mixes. That's why they need to be re-mastered.

It's so over the top happy, you can't help but feel good - it's forcing you not to take things so seriously. LOVE IS THE ONLY WAY

Really Prince?!? REALLY?!?!?!?!?!?! "You can be the President, I'd rather be the Pope"
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Oh boy... I should have known.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
The pre-1999 albums don't sound so dated to me because I had them as they were released and they take me back to that time when they were new. And nothing at the time sounded like these records so when I heard Everybody Loves Me I was back in the good ol days! Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.

I think people are talking about the synth in the background. It has the same sound as the synth in Dirty Mind and Private Joy. It's not a sample, it's just a synth playing. And the Linn is awesome! I'm glad it's back. I Stefani Germanotta.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Yes, I had often wondered why he never uses the Linn, he could always do some of the coolest work with it. We are all so full of here

I think I've just been a victim of ear rape.
oh. my...
Er.. I don't know what to say about this one. It's like the remedial cousin of No More Candy 4 U. On prozac.
I should hate it, but for some reason, it just makes me laugh.
blah blah blah | |
