how nice of him. i've often heard prince fans thank him repeatedly for his music.
not only that, but we've showered him with millions of our dollars to show our appreciation.
we've gone to his shows, bought his records, supported his career on and off for 30 years.
some of us have been here for the entire duration his career, always willing to listen to whatever music he creates next, and pay him quite handsomely for it.
we've created websites in his honor, only to be sued for using his image and likeness without his permission. well excuse us.
we've signed up to websites promising lifetime memberships and exclusive content, only to have the doors slammed shut in our faces. because prince was having a 'bad hair day'.
we've intently read every interview he gave about the music industry, we listened while he complained about all it's flaws, while he sat pretty on millions of dollars living a luxurious lifestyle.
we took note when he said he wanted artistic freedom and many of us followed suit, oblivious to the fact that many years later, Prince would reneg entirely on his freedom, and start doing schmooze deals with tasteless newspapers to make some fast cash.
we've sat back and listened to the purple yoda proclaim the internet is over, in as much as he cant crank a dollar out of it anymore. complain complain complain.
nice to see his true intentions finally revealed though.
after all his passive-aggressive complaining over the years, its good to hear he's making a lovely packet of cash.
at least the poor little blighter can put some food on the table and send his girlfriend to the hairdresser.
but i wonder, what will he complain about next?

I really dislike it when people talk about supporting an artist for many years, and act as if that artists owes them anything because they bought their albums and went to their concerts.
Prince provided you a service, just like Macy's or Sony Electronics.
It makes no sense to continuously be a customer for so many years if the product has dissatisfied you for so long.
You wouldn't go eating at a restaurant for 30 years, but still complain that the food hasn't been good for the past 15.
You wouldn't stand outside that restaurant with a megaphone telling everyone how bad the food and service has been, but still go in and eat.
I've been to Cracker Barrel once. It was the worst dining experience of my life. We waited 3 hours for our food, and when it got there, it was disgusting and cold. We were the only Black People there, so I think we may have been victims of discrimination. Guess what, I don't eat at Cracker Barrel anymore.
I also don't go on the Cracker Barrel website and discuss how bad Cracker Barrel is. If someone asks me about Cracker Barrel, I have no problem telling them how bad it is. But I don't go out of my way to talk about my experience there.
If you've supposedly been burned by Prince time after time after time. It's not his fault, it's yours because you keep letting him do it.
He doesn't owe you anything extra because you've bought his CD's. He damn sure doesn't owe you anything if you've been downloading his CD's.
Enough with the sense of entittlement. JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!!

i agree. so when do you think Prince will stop finding things to complain about in the music industry online and off?
and why would he go back to WB after so many years of disliking their service?
my point is paris, it works both ways:
if prince has fans who whinge whine and complain all the time and he doesnt like it
maybe he could go check himself in the mirror and recall his own words
"an artist gets the audience they deserve"
what i refuse to do though, is fight with other Prince fans over a difference of opinion
like you said, its just music, its not that serious, so in that respect, its not worth fighting over and neither is he

Whiny haters who act like fans. When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

How the hell has his fans let him down? He's got their money doesn't he? Then what's the problem? Is it because a lot of them won't kiss his ass and think that everything he makes is great and that he can do no wrong?
Prince's fans don't owe him a damn thing. It's the other way around. Prince owes his fans. He's the one doing the selling of a product, not his fans. Andy is a four letter word.
