Who is Huffington Post to Prince? What can they do to him? Why should he be concerned? Prince has situated himself so that he does not have to worrry about who does not like him or anything he does. That is the freedom he was talking about in the 90s.

Nothing he has planned recently ever go the way he wants or thinks he should go. He exists on a different planet than we do. We may go left and he may go right. I just watched Kevin Smith's description of how he dealt with Prince. Honestly if you try to make sense of what he says or does, you would have a problem trying to deal with it too. It's easy to say that whatever Prince does is OK because you're a loyal fan, but when you see it literally, it could lead a different reaction. Prince thinks everyone KNOWS what he means. Information he sends always get miscontrued but he never goes out of his way to correct it. Like EBONY's title suggested in his article, he leaves us in riddles.

everybody has their own reality and their own perception of things..even though I'm a 16 year old girl, I seem to have to same views as prince on a lot of topics..i'm not just saying that it's okay because I'm a fan, even when strangers do things that would get a reaction out of most people, I am able to see the way they see things..maybe i should be a little more provincial and just go with what other people are saying, but, like prince, I'm not going to say something that I don't truly believe in..and I truly believe that I have absolutely no idea where I was going with any of this..sorry to waste time smile

You know what? You may be on to something. When I was a 16 year old girl, I seemed to have the same views as Prince on a lot of topics, as well.

The conflict of interests began when I grew up. Prince may be 52 but can we say, in all honesty that he really is a grown up? hmmm

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

You din't say it, I say it, and I HAVE THE RIGHT AND PRIVILEDGE TO SAY IT, you might disagree but...

However! hmm

REALITY...in the REAL world...IS...out there!

She will not be DENIED! wink

Wait, let me go and drag some cool hip memes from the internet so I can make my point across because I can't hold arguments with words.

Right.

Now I know what Prince mean.

I don't hold arguments, I finish them!

However, I can't even do that with you because you are talking jibberish and I can't seem to understand what it is, you are trying to articulate other than some compulsary reflex need to try and defend Prince from the mean ol' people on the internet.

When YOU figure out what it is you are trying to say and HOW to say it. Get back to me. bored2

"The internet is completely over"?

Doesn't me mean "The Artist Formerly Known as Prince" is completely over?

In fact, the guy doesn't even have a pronounceable name. A few years ago he changed his name to a an Egyptian symbol.

And know he tells us the internet is over? And some people are actually taken this gibberish seriously.

Basically, Prince peddled sex. All of his fans were in to recreational drugs and casual sex; that was the guy's message. All of his backup singers and band members appeared on stage half-dressed.

The man was a parent's worst nightmare. Teenage girls would go to school in lingerie because of this character.

The whole idea of the Prince "Revolution" was to have as much sex and do as much drugs as you could before 1999 which explains why all of his crowd is on dialysis or waiting for kidney or liver transplants.

Except for that bolded bit, it seems fairly accurate to me. This is probably how most people remember Prince.

and prince .

I also believe that he has come to this conclusion that the Internet is no good because he has learned so much by reading scripture in actual books rather than on a computer screen. I think that he is just, once again, trying to share his knowledge and peace with other people, but it's just not going over the way he planned.

Fuck his knowledge!

I've been a fan since '83, and I don't remember any newspaper reports about parents shocked that their children were wearing lingerie to school or that he promoted any kind of drug use, or that his 'Revolution' was an amalgamation of all the aforementioned orgiastic vices.

But hey, maybe that's just me. shrug

What? Prince doesn't see things the same as the rest of the world? He has a different take on things your every day Joe considers "normal"? Is anybody shocked? This is the same man who changed his name to prince

[Edited 7/7/10 9:16am]

He didn't change his name. When he sued you, it still said "Prince Rogers Nelson".

Well let's see who was the biggest stars mentioned in the '80s? Michael Jackson and Madonna right? I think Prince's only controversy in the '80s was the lyrics to "Darling Nikki", otherwise he always had better media treatment. Plus the '80s was a different time compared to now. Time is different now.

Exactly. I remember headlines in the 80's, but none of what the guy above me was harping on about. Guess it must have been some kind of alternative reality chit.

That's pretty much a rehash of the original article that's been posted here a few dozen times this week already.

Yep, all these other on-line entities (papers) repost all the same info from site to site, there's no originality to it at all ... LoL

Must be where Prince got the idea of how to make his last few albums.

My analysis of Prince's statement: "The Internet is completely over."

There are statements that are true & there are...what's called true statements.

In Prince's world, he is constantly trying to find new outlets to distribute his music & get what he considers fair compensation for it. Unfortunately, the internet is not doing that for him. Maybe the reason why he took down his website. Prince made a statement that he is holding true to his way of business, self expression, & living. I don't know if Prince actually believes that the popularity & use of the internet has reached it's potential...but based upon the previous lawsuits & inability to satisfy with a well kept website, no one would argue that the interviewer didn't get a true statement from Prince.

Is what Prince said a statement that is true? To the rest of the world... this is a untrue/ridiculous statement because our lives are engulfed with it. Whatever issues Prince may have with the internet,...we still buy things, self promote, and entertain ourselves thru it. Overall, not a statement that is true.

That's my twocents

Intelligent people talk about ideas. -->Average people talk about things. --> Small people talk about other people.
