The CD is FREE anyway so if people download it out of SPITE he DON'T CARE!!!! HE already got paid 4 it. HE GOT MILLIONS UP FRONT 2 GIVE IT AWAY!!!!
in a day and age where CD SALES R shrinking at an alarming RATE he got MULTIPLE papers 2 GIVE him MILLIONS 4 it!!! he is the smartest man in the room.
Can He do this 4ever not really but he did it AT LEAST TWICE!

RE: the actual comment - if U read between the lines he is back 2 fighting 4 ARTIST rights and Intellectual Property. iTunes is more popular than CD stores and the MOVE more UNITS yet they give the ARTIST EVEN less than the physical CD does. iTUNES does MUCH MUCH MUCH less regarding any sort of work (in store displays, advertisements, physically displaying CDs etc) yet they take much more of the profit.

YouTube sells ADVERTISEMENTS on their pages that display content THAT THEY DON'T OWN. Prince is actually MUCH MUCH smarter than people give him credit 4. The only problem with statements like this is that Prince is heavy handed and clumsy making sweeping statements. Shunning technology like iTunes, Youtube and the internet ensures he keeps getting a smaller and smaller audience. He wont ever reach new LISTENERS this way. 2 the "kids" of the world he doesn't even exist. He isn't on the RADAR. While ARTISTS who really pay attention 2 Prince and his teachings will benefit greatly his promotion and ability 2 get new fans diminishes.

He seems 2 b at a point in his career and life that he is at peace. He has done it all. Prince feels anyone who really wants good music will FIND it. I hope he is correct because it would b a shame 4 an entire generation 2 miss out on a TALENT LIKE PRINCE!

Yeah, it's obvious that he's yanking everyone's chain and the non-thinkers will freak out. You can go to all the message boards on the blogs that are reporting the story and see the posts of outrage. "Prince's career is dead!" "I can't put his music on my iPod!" Boo Hoo!
