Is it just me or does the man seem to be obsessed with royalities and trademarks and copyright protection, etc???

Threatening & shutting down fan websites, telling his fans not to buy bootlegs, asking $$$ for everytime he gets his picture taken - even by a fan, charging some of the highest ticket prices for the ONA shows in 2002 - NPGMC members included...the list goes on and on.

I can understand he needs to make a living, and i respect his rights to protect what is lawfully his - but it seems to me there is a right way and a wrong way to carry out your business dealings.

It just seems to me that a musical artist shouldn't make it obvious that one his main driving forces is the dollar!

Prince is a Brilliant Businessman. More people should be so Wise. I think he's Right to Protect his Interests. Anyone who ever doubted him and his Abilities should Re-Think Their Position. Prince is Definitely a Force to be Reckoned With and Highly,Highly Intelligent. I give him so much Respect and Admiration for his Brilliance. It drives me Wild and makes me Hotter still for Him,cause I could Never Stand a Dumb Man. Prince is Incredibly Sexy not only for his Music and his Gorgeous Face but for his Mind. Listento Natasha this is the Best Musician in the World. Nobody can do more Musically. I firmly Predict Prince will see Great Things for Himself and his Career in the Coming Year ahead. He's an Upstanding Person and such an Asset to Any Group or Community.

Personally, I think Prince needs help in this department. It's been obvious to everyone but him, just how much better his career and financial status would be if he just hired the right people, paid them appropriately, and didn't feel like he needed complete control.

Prince is a terrible businessman, with absolutely no regard for customer care, satisfaction or loyalty.

Oh, BTW, I'm still waiting for my ONA, which after several emails to NPGMC over the course of several months, all I have received is psychobabble and bad manners from Lori.

Anyone with a knowledge of how musicians have been treated in a financial sense by the induistry would neer question the business practices of Prince. Black musicians have been taken advantage of from day one. Chuck Berry and Little Richard truly are the architects of rock and roll and that have nothing close to what they should have.

Ticket prices? Well, they are still less then U2, Madonna, Janet Jackson, and the Rolling Stomes. Prince still gives the best live show you are going to see so whatever he charges that is less than these lesser live acts is a damn bargin.

I for one think that this kind of thing doesn't get discussed often enough on the Org. I vote for:

1) More topics containing complaints about Prince and his business practises

2) More topics containing complaints about Prince's religious beliefs etc

3) More topics containing complaints about how Prince's music is completely shit and why doesn't he get back to the kind of thing he did circa 1987
