Very interesting. This definately sounds like so-called "80's Prince", moreso than MPLSound and I liked that one quite a bit. I don't want to get my hopes too high but I like what I'm hearing. The music hasn't sounded this energetic and alive since "3121" so that's a plus. The lyrics are interesting, I can take or leave what I've heard but it doesn't make me less excited either. I am more interested in hearing 20TEN today than I was yesterday and that's a great thing.

"Compassion" sounds like the clean sister of "Let's Pretend We're Married".

"Beginning Endlessy" has that funky Linn programming that I've been missing.

And "Lavaux" has that old school funk/pop feel to it.

So I guess it's really a stretch to say that "Beginning Endlessy" reminds me of Lenny Kravitz's "Believe" and "Lavaux" reminds me of the Pointer Sister's "Automatic"?....

Speaking as one of the staunchest "complainers" here...AND...one that was actually around for ALL of the aforementioned albums. I can say in all and complete, wholehearted honesty, that I NEVER, EVER had ANY complaints about them!

I like all three of those clips, especially Lavaux. It sounds groovy and fresh. They all sound like 80's unreleased songs. I wouldn't be surprised if he just used some backing tracks from the 80's and added new vocals -- the vocals are good but don't really fit with the music. He's just talking over those beats. But I love it...... bring on this album.

What I meant by "every 80's album sounding different" is that there was no 1 "80's Prince" sound that could be easily copied today that would make me happy, because that's not what it's about. 80's Prince, at least for me, sounded and felt like someone who was trying to be creative and make great music, to not just rest on "eh, this is ok, it will do". It wasn't just the Linn, or the MN sound keyboards, or the falsetto, or the guitar (without the accompaning keyboard underneath), it was all of that and more. And no, every 80's Prince song wasn't great, but even the failures were interesting. Current Prince sounds like someone just going through the motions, at least to my ears.
