Elevation - "Traitor" going through some recently downloaded boots, and on Eye Records "Lotus Box" there is a track by Elevation called "Traitor"
How is this Prince related? I don't recall reading/hearing about it before. And yes, I did a google search and didn't turn up much. Just that he was or may have been involved in it in some way. What's the story?

Prince supposedly played guitar on it. So supposedly, there is guitar on the track. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I never found any confirmation about this collaboration being true.
And I can't rely on what Eye Records say: on that very boot, they said they included Prince's mix of Stevie Wonder's Cold Chill and what they did was include the album version, NOT the Prince mix.
So they should learn their lessons a bit better.

aside from the versions of Hit U In The Socket, how about the rest of those Rosie tracks that are on it?

Haven't seen it myself, so don't know which Rosie tracks you mean.
However, Prince was only involved with "I Want U", "My Tender Heart" and "Hit U In The Socket" from the sessions that were made during her time with Paisley Park. The tracks were intended for her album Concrete Jungle before some of them were reused for Closer Than Close.
There was also an earlier track called Exploding All Over Europe which featured Rosie and was written by Prince and Ingrid Chavez. But this was never intended for any of Rosie's albums. [Edited 7/4/10 2:27am]

The sleeve for this single lists guitar by Prince
but there is no guitar on it
some kind of inside joke maybe? [Edited 7/4/10 11:51am]

I know about those, so thank you. I should have been more specific. I'm talking about "Try Me," "B.I.T.C.H.," "Lost In The Wilderness," "Crazy Mutha Funky," "The Greatest Touch," "Trouble (Never Give Up)" and "Play That Beat"
I've seen info here and there about particular songs, but when it comes to Prince's involvement I never trust Prince's involvement (one way or the other) 100%. Just wondered if you had any confirmed info on these. Thanks again.

Looks that way. Having "Prince" on the jacket also brings the asking price of a vinyl copy to around $125. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

There was no Prince involvement at all with any of those songs. [Edited 7/4/10 13:29pm]

And Eye Records should include a little bag of salt with their releases as a promotional tool...

Yeah, there's quite a lot of associated artists tracks that turn up on these kinda boots that actually have nothing to do with Prince whatsoever. Those Martika tracks and the Kim Basinger album both spring to mind as prime examples.

really? should it be? I did a google search, as you are always urging people to do so. I only turned up 2 threads that even referenced it, with no info. So why would it be in the FAQ? An FAQ, by definition is answers to Frequently Asked Questions. From what I can tell, I'm the only one that's asked so far.

I can see Eye Records putting out a compilation called 'The non Prince-related songs by the Prince-related artists'. And using the wrong versions...
