My top 3 this week.. I wanna show some appreciation..this week I'm going absolutely nuts for these 3 songs...constant repeat...SILICON...MIND BELLS...GOLDNIGGA..
...and I seem to have re-discovered INSATIABLE...

You want some hot stuff, my recommendation is
"Return Of The Bump Squad" from Exodus from the 2nd New Power Generation album, "The Exodus Has Begun" from Exodus "3121", title track from the same album. That shit is FUNKY!
It's not what I'm listening to this week, but it's definitely 3 of my top Prince tunes. Hell, that whole Exodus album is incredible stuff. Cut out the segues, and go for the music straight on. | |

The funkiest tune is purple music..but yes, i prefer funk too..and the exodus has begun isn't very funky in my opinion...but I'll give it a go this week..haven't heart it for a long time...mind bells is a supercute song...and silicone is like them days..when I went nuts ...and do on... Listen again, at loud volume w/ the bass turned up. If your butt cheeks don't clinch up, check your pulse. That shit is NASTY and funky!
"Silicon" is Prince trying to pontificate about the + / - of blood transfusion, condoms, and eating meat. I don't need to hear Prince doing that. I can make my own decision on that. Prince, of all people, sure ain't going to sway my opinion of having some home made chicken tenders, or a steak.

I aint' down with that sort of nonsense. I mean, who talks about bloody chicken and interferons in a song? That ain't funky, it's dumb, to me. I know folks would say "just listen to the music, and ignore the lyrics", but I am just not wired that way. Simple as that.
I like when Prince is just having fun in his music. I miss that a lot.

Can't see what's so special about Exodus. IMO it gets way too much praise here on the Org!
- annoying segues - weak vocals (Sonny T.) - efforts like Return 2 the bumbsquad and Big Fun sound out of place - only 2 standout tracks (The Exodus Has Begun, Count The Days)

Yeah interesting how u see things. To me words are a play, so when he sings about silicone, he may mean something else but use different words to express it. Silicone to me is like Organ Grinder...he could say chicken blood but maybe he means other stuff...you know everything translates to something else...for everyone...this is what is so great about Prince..while some find him offensive and shallow..others this he is fucking boss....
