So, Prince made deals with multiple publishers in what, 4-5 different countries in Europe to distribute his new album. Lets say he makes $1.5 mil per paper. We talking potentially $6 mil already..just imagine adding another group of countries to the list, sky is the limit! Brother is fucking smart. Thats money up front, while "in demand" artistes must wait for their shit to be heard and liked before they see any money,THEN EVERYONE GETS A CUT. people can say what they want about the fact that his chanel is cheap tabloid newspaper.Hey, who made the rules on how to distribute? As long as its legal!!!

He gets his stuff out to people who would never walk into a store to purchase his shit otherwise, to people who even find him repulsive, he sneak his product into their home anyway, and i am quite sure there will be at least one song that will grow on each person who pick up the paper...dad gets his paper, finds the album inside, throws it aside and read his paper, wife finds album on the coffee table, pops it in the player and loves it... not to mention potential concert ticket sale. Dont be surprised if this method takes off in the near future...Lil Wayne album with pulka dot boxers...lady gaga records with toilet paper?

he got approx 500,000 uk from the Mail 3yrs ago. I'd highly doubt one of these papers or magazines would repeat that. It's not economically viable. The Mirror is laying off staff from what i've read. None of the other publications have as high a readership as the Mirror either, so i'd bet they'd pay less too.

He'll still make a pretty penny, but then who's paying the guys making/distributing the CD's?
