I think I've seen the flick maybe twice(?) the whole way through. I remember she's in his basement room and they start makin' with the lovey-dovey, but I don't remember it in detail.

Don't get me wrong: it's a fun movie (if you can get past all of the horrible acting, the bad writing and the contrived plot). I'd probably watch it if it was on TV again (and it didn't conflict w/a show I liked), but I ain't seekin' it out.

I think the music in Purple Rain's great (although I have a problem with some of the lyrics). But one of the greatest r 'n' r films of all-time? Bruce Springsteen (who gave it a big thumbs up) likened it to 'a really good, early Elvis movie'. I'd say that's about the size of it.

It's half a time more than I've seen it. Absolutely fantastic soundtrack but in the grand scheme of things it's not really a fantastic movie.

I'm not sure I watched it all the times I watched it because it was some motion picture masterpiece. It's just a fun movie to watch, I think. Doesn't require a lot of though, has neat visuals, has Prince, has Bobby Z lookin like a tranny, and has Morris Day being hilarious.
