Don't forget Prince is playing guitar. Remember that during the NPG days of the mid 90's, Prince took on all guitar parts because Levi had jumped ship in 1993 or so. I kind of like when Prince is the only guitar player. It harkens back to his early days - as in having a rawer edge in the music a lot of times (even though Dez was in the group too).

Having Tal on board would have been cool, have you heard her solo album? It's a killer, she recorded it after only 3 years of picking up a bass. She is cool and the album rocks.

The band lineup is something we will all get used to, just like any band changes he has ever made.

There is a circulating boot of a performance he played with Josh & Cora as a trio, and believe me, they are more than competent.

I think we can rest easy in the fact that whatever lineup Prince should choose, now or in the future, he will never run the risk of having a below par band.
